First GP title for Ducati too. The last time a non Japanese bike won the GP title was MV in 1974. Italy must be rejoicing. |

I just put aside a case of pickled Okra for the celebration when Buell wins it's first Moto GP. Okra is on me, Sam Adams on Buell? |

Well, an Italian rider won 5 out of the last 7 years, they might be tired from all that celebrating. He did win on Japanese bikes though. So who was the MV rider in 1974, and part two, what does "MV" stand for? OK, just looked it up. Wow that is unbelievable, Italy had a 23-year run as GP champs, the last 17 in a row of those years it was MV. Sure didn't help their sales in the US... Here's the list of champions since 1949: http://www.motorsportsetc.com/champs/gp500.htm And here's what MV stands for: http://www.best-motorcycle-gear.com/mv-agusta-moto rcycle-history.html |

Way-to-go Ricky Carmichael, Tim Ferry and Ryan Villipoto for beating the best in the world at the Motocross Des Nations.
