The FLT has the infamous oil mist venting into the air filter then dripping out issue most of us 'tuber Buell owners have already modified or cured. Do any of you know of any corrective options similar to converting a Buell tube frame engine to XB rocker covers? I've picked up a breather line kit from a recent sidewalk sale at Hal's and plan to install that. Then will probably vent the spooge mist to a catch can someplace. But since I'm in the prep mode until full winter mode kicks in I'd like to collect any bits of info and affordable spare parts that I might be able to use. So, what have those of you with BigTwin &/or Evolution H-D bikes done to your bikes relative to rocker cover venting? I currently have 18 cents set aside out of my lunch money so far towards this project, might have enough saved by the time I need it. Thanks for any input or suggestions. (Garage clearing rummage sale coming to an alley near me soon.) (ps, relative to the catch can, I'm thinking I might just use a piggy bank of some sort just as a humorous stress reliever, not too sure how well it will be received though by those with less humorific inclinations, still might do it though.... just have to find one that won't melt or break too easily, then have to find a polite way to install a petcock drain for the little piggy. )

YES! A stainless or brass piggy bank would be funny as hell! |

And they already have the rubber/plastic plug in the tummy(usually) to remove the excess oil. |

My Dyna was drooling oil onto the air filter and it was dripping out the the bottom of the air cleaner and onto the cases (mostly when it was setting). I took the two rubber tubes that connected the vents to the air filter and cut them off. Then I joined a piece of 5/16" tubing to the rubber tubes with double ended barbs, took that down to a barbed Tee that sets inside the filter housing at the bottom (vertical leg of the Tee pointing down through the air inlet). I put another length of tubing on the outlet from the Tee, ran that across the cam chests, between the oil filter and the crankcase, down and under the engine where is vents into a small home made gas filter oil catch can. And it has stopped my problems inside the air cleaner housing. I used a similar gas filter oil catch can on the transmission vent that was busily oiling up the area between the back of the inner primary cover and the transmission. I extended that one down below the engine a little and the vapors are vented down and toward the road. I still get a little oil accumulation down there but nothing compared to the way it was before.
