Niners. Soon the Niners will win the Superbowl afer going undefeated...then they will run for President of the United States of America, invade and conquer the Middle East, then Russia, then China. Then they will retire to the pleasant shores of the US and open an ice cream parlor, dispensing both mint chip ice cream and helpful football tips. "Hello, Jimmy. Here's your ice cream cone. Say, would you like to know how to put a spin move on an offensive lineman?" |

One problem: Every time the Eagles rushed Brady in the Super Bowl, the Patriots nullified the defensive attack with screen passes. Lots of them. On almost every play defensive coordinator Jim Johnson called for a blitz, the Patriots used the short pass to confuse the Eagles. After the Patriots beat the Eagles 24-21 in 2005 to win the Lombardi Trophy, Brown thought the Patriots beat them with nothing but sharp offensive playcalling. Now, he's not so sure. With spying accusations leveled this week against the Patriots, some of the Eagles left from the NFC title team are wondering if New England used bootleg film to their advantage in the Super Bowl. We will never know!!! |

there is NO way that the Patriots could have used the film during a game. This whole thing with the filming is getting WAY too stupid and so is that fine. Total BS to lose a first round pick and all that money. He used the films for FUTURE games and to screw with the opposing coach. |

Uhhh...you're wrong. The teams are not watching film on reel to reel anymore. They have million dollar computerized video data bases that show a teams tendencies in any down & distance scenario. So, if they can confirm the information through spying via video during the first half, they could easily start stealing signals and relay them to the QB beginning in the 2nd half. And that's when you can secure a win with a big touchdown play, or even a couple of first downs that run out a significant amount of time off the clock. This is why all teams were warned by the commissioner to not do it last season. |

Get a clue. Halftime is 20 MINUTES!!!! Do you really think that they can watch, figure out what the defense/sign is and chart it in that amount of time I have some land in Florida I want to sell ya. Also the defense IS NOT called until the offense is called. Once the defense sees what the offense is doing THEN the defensive play is called. Let's see......... Brady calls a play and the offense gets ready......... the defense sees what formation and offensive players are on the field and calls their defensive play. How much time do you think is left for the coaches to see what defensive call is made and relay that information to the quarterback and for the quarterback to change his play???? Oh and don't forget that when the defense sends their signs they also send out dummy signs. Do you think this can be done in the 40 seconds given for a play????? This wasn't a coach that was recording the video it was an intern-like assistant with a handheld video camera. so uhhhh........ Your wrong. |

"so uhhhh........ Your wrong." You spelled your wrong. Well, we BOTH can't be wrong, and the rest of the NFL and Roger Goodell agrees with me, so I must be right. I'll pass on your real estate offer. |

Damnnut, so tell us, what did they *REALLY* use that film for? An intern was doing it without knowledge from the coach? This wasn't the 1st time they've been caught doing this. Green Bay caught them doing it last year as well. They knew it was illegal, but continued the practice. It smells fishy as hell to me. |

They knew it was illegal, but continued the practice. It smells fishy as hell to me. The rule is that you can't video the signs and use that tape DURING a game. My point is that it is highly doubtful that they were using it DURING the game but were using it for FUTURE use. If you guys think that the Patriots are the only ones doing this sort of thing YOU'RE WRONG. happy now? |

Damnut, I will be happy when they catch other teams doing this. Wait other teams are not doing this. Why, because they are not that stupid to have a camera on the sidelines. That is what the patriots did!!! In fact they were caught a couple years ago doing it and were told to stop and were warned not to do it again. Sounds like to me they have been doing it for a while now. That is why they won the super bowl against the Eagles. Every time the eagles would blitz some how the patriots would set up a screen pass. Even on first downs this happened. Get over it your team continued to cheat and got caught. I think the commish took it easy on them. He should have told them not to show up at the draft period!!! I will add when the NFL viewed the tape it showed the camera man shooting the defensive coach as he was sending in the signals. Tell me why would he be doing that if they were not trying to get an advantage for the second half. And yes these guys are Pro's and can figure it out in 15 mins. Check this out i was at my sons pop warner game doing stats and this old timer was calling the plays and he was right 9 times out of 10. If the old man could do that, then the Pro's would have no problem picking up on the signals. |

Or they could do away with huddles, time outs signals, calls - and just play the game. Why I like Rugby League - pretty much the same game - just all laterals - and played without any stoppages - and no helmets or pads. Every player on the side has to be supremely fit. |

One more thing. I have no idea where you got your rules from but the first rule when it comes to cameras is no team or member of the teams organization can have any type of media devise on the sidelines. With the exception of the communication device between coach and QB. I can not remember which game it was. But, last year a player who was out because of an injury pulled a digital camera out of his bag to take pictures. The referee saw the camera and had the it removed off the field. |
