I went to the Lansdale bike night in Lansdale, PA. As always there were a lot of motorcycles and people and sites to see.

On the ride home I came upon a fellow riding a modified sidecar motorcycle from a wheelchair. He is sitting in a wheelchair on the sidecar side which has been adapted to hold his chair and operate the cycle. You get that almost disorienting feeling when you see a motorcycle riding down the road with no rider until you realize that the rider in the sidecar is running the show.

Gotta love the spirit in the motorcycle community. I bet he is not the only one to have done this and I bet there is an interesting story behind every one.

I saw something similar at Bonneville last. A gentleman riding his Honda CB350 set up like what described.

I say God Bless him for not laying down to his challenged life style and enjoying his passion for motorcycles.

I followed a guy that was riding a Sportster with a sidecar once. When I pulled up next to him, I saw that both legs were amputated above the knees and he had a folding wheelchair in the sidecar. He was a 1%'er based on the colors he was wearing, and he wasn't pleased in the least when I gave him a 'thumbs up'.

He looked like he could have kicked my ass good, too... even without legs.
