Anybody have firsthand experience with one or both of these bikes? It may be time next year to finally treat myself, and I always thought I'd get the Jota. In fact, that was the biggest reason I bought a Daytona 955. But for a couple of years now, my mind's kept wandering over to the 750. Lighter, simpler, purer...it's really got a hold of me.

Any lucky BadWebbers ridden either of these? What do you think?

Oh darn do I have to show it off one more time?

Laverda has some nice choices, I have often thought about picking up a Jota myself and if I did it would be one of the 180 degree cranks. They sound so cool.

Price wise the Jota and the SF are probably both close and nice ones cost between $7- 10K. If you can find a 750 SFC expect to spend $35,000 American for an good one. All Laverdas are reliable until they moved to Zane I would personally avoid any Zane bikes.

There are still lots parts available and the guy with the worlds largest stock is awesome and keeps the prices down. Let me know if there is anything particular you want to know.

Heres a link to a popular Laverda forum

What a beautiful bike!! I thought somebody in here had one, but I couldn't remember whom.

I tried to find a Laverda last year before I bought the Triumph, but for two months couldn't locate one for sale in the USA, although I've seen them pop up in Walneck's every once in a while. That link will be priceless to me.

I had always expected that one day I'd own a 180 degree Jota, but the 750 has been slowly seducing me for quite a while now. I'll go lurk on that Laverda group for a while and get myself educated.

Of course, first I have to find the will to close the pics of your bike off my screen...

Thanks for the help and photos!
Steve

You might want to talk to this guy (Wolfgang) he knows what bikes are for sale in North America and Europe.

Importing a bike between Canada and the USA is relatively easy, I am in the middle of importing a BMW as we speak.

Thanks for the link. I've been busy searching for valve shims for the almost mighty FZR and hadn't checked back in on this until now.

You've owned it for 34 years?! I'll bet you are CONSTANTLY asked to sell it!

The Laverdas from the 70's are the most beautiful Italian motorcycles ever made in my opinion.
