I need to swap out the rear isolators for the S3T. Can I make my own frame spreader as I don't want to buy one or do it the old way? How much does the special tool spread the frame? Does anyone have a picture of one? Someone must know. |

Newfie... Isolator DIY I haven't tried this yet but Bomber swears by the method. |

Hope this link works: http://www.aeincorporated.com/kastar/?category=&pa ge=show_item_detail&id=35&qs=c2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9cmVhc itpc29sYXRvciZzZWFyY2hfaW49YWxsJnBhZ2U9c2VhcmNo If not, it's $88, part number 445 from Kastar. Picture in the description. Some people here have devised their own solution - maybe they'll chime in. |

I am not a fan of spreading the frame, but I will say it substantially reduces isolator change time. Nonetheless, I prefer the ATC method (which Jay Hawley documented and devised the tools for). What we discovered with the spreader is that the initial spread comes from compression of the opposite isolator, but the second half of the spread comes from the frame. Too bad the isolators were not designed to absorb the full spread. |

I've done the Jay Hawley method a couple of times. The first was with Jay in his garage on my S3-T. the second was in my own garage by myself on my M2. It's not that difficult a job; it's just time consuming. Especially if it's your first time. |
