After riding home from work yesterday, looking out for all those YAHOOS talking on their cell phones, one guy/punk pulls right out in front of me! Did I expect it YEAP, and I gave him the BEEP BEEP horn too. It was kind of embarrassing, so I just ordered a Stebel nautical compact air horn. OH I can't wait to get it mounted to the XB.

$40 shipped from Cali Sport Touring Inc (https://casporttouring.hostasaurus.com)

Stay safe out there! Expect the unexpected and give em the HORN~

I've got one too. You'll be pleased with how loud it is. The only problem is where to put it. I haven't read anything here on BWB about where you guys with the Firebolts are mounting them. I've got the Lightning, and managed to shoehorn the entire unit behind my flyscreen without pinching my clutch and throttle cables, but had to use a Uly flyscreen to get enough room to do it.

Otherwise, the horn will come off the compressor, and I was thinking I may in the future just mount the horn behind the flyscreen so I can go back to a regular Lightning flyscreen, and then put the compressor in my airbox and run some high-pressure hose between them. It would be a little more complex installation to do it this way, but the horn really is worth the hassle because it sounds like a 1-ton duelly bearing down on the jabbering idiots careening through traffic in their cages with the cellphone glued to their ears.

I had a lady cross over into my lane just as I entered her blind spot on her left side one day, and I gave her a good long blast right outside her driver's door window. Everything seemingly happened in slow motion, and it reminded me of the Exorcist the way her head snapped around to look at me. I was preparing to cave her door in with my boot, but she jerked the wheel the other way, probably thinking she was about to be ran down by a Mack truck, and about wound up in the ditch on the other side of the road. Serves her right for being so unobservant. I also run a Kisan Pathblazer which flashes both my headlights, which are pointed up as high as I could get them. How could she miss all that flashing going on in her mirrors? I'm told it's quite blinding even during broad daylight at high noon. For that matter, my Race Can was in full song as I blasted past her. What is she deaf? Was she jamming to the oldies on her Bose factory system while she jabbered on her phone?

I wonder how much her chiropractor bill was for the slipped disk she probably suffered in her neck. LOL!

Here are some photos I found and directions for mounting on XBR, many folk in the process of coming up with something.

my SECOND stebel Nautilus compact air horn is working very well. the first one lasted 2 weeks, horn died, mounted it's compressor in my pickup truck, and it BLASTS a big brass marine airhorn mounted under the hood. wired with relay into stock horn circuit. dont no what the volume or pressure generated is, but it is REALLY LOUD.
The current Buell mounted stebel nautilus is working well, and is a huge improvement over any other stock motorcycle horn, but bear in mind that the advertised 139 db is at a range 0f 2 inches. and sound attenuates rapidly with the square of distance. so rating a horn at 2 inches is really rather silly information. like claiming dry weight for a motorcycle. or crankshaft horsepower. or drag strip testing of specially prepared "Magazine Bikes" that are similar in dimension and graphics to the regular bikes sold down at your local dealer.
