Can someone take this:
and add the tail section, and bags from this:
Just curious, since Buell won't give us the sport tourer we want, perhaps we can create our own... |

Not too shabby for doing this in 3 minutes in Paint! I added some ST bars too ;)

For those who want to do photochopping without purchasing photoshop: There is a program called paint.net, it is free, and you can do quite a bit with it. |

The only problem with the adding that tail section is, it only fits in PhotoShopLand. The frames are too different. I tried it and kept everything in scale, the only way to mate the tail section and seat, would be to tilt it pretty high. It'd probably be a better fit to use the Uly tail section and bags. The tube framed Buells are a much bigger bike.

The XB tail sections bolt on. If someone can turn an M2 into an S1 then they could also with just a little fabrication turn an XB into an SXB. Hmmmm, SeXB, SeX2B, S2XB, 1125RS2, S21125R, S2-1125RT, RS2T, R2D2 ????? Photoshop apparently has a "free" demo download, but it appears to be nearly a half-gig in size just for the download file(s). |

You cant bolt any XB tail onto a 1125. The sub frame is a whole world away from the XBR subf rame. The only similarities between the XBR and the 1125's tail are the plastic and seating. All of the internals, undertail and sub frame are different. |

But does the 1125R have a bolt-on tail section framework? If so then someone could fab something up. |

Someone could fab something up anyways, XB or Tuber. We're talking about mounting a new tail, not a new engine. This isn't brain surgery. Anyone who's just looked at a welder could handle the job. Keep in mind, the XB-R tail section doean't have anything in it aside from wiring for the lights - I'm sure the 1125 is the same. |

How about leaving the tail section and adding just the bags? I would be much easier to fabricate the brackets for the saddle bags. Can anybody photochop that set-up? I'm personally going to give the new bike a "wait & see" attitude. I had a deposit but cancelled when I heard about the non-compatible subframes. |

Calm down ladies, I am not saying it can't be done. (just look at all the crap on my bike LOL) I am just saying it isn't a bolt on... |

I like Xl1200r's rendition. I wasn't really looking for something that would just bolt on. I know that would be too easy. I don't like the high rise tail section of the firebolt or the 1125R. I like the more level seating arrangements similiar to the S2 and S3's. And yes, anyone with a little bit of fabrication and welding experience can fabricate or modify a tubers tail section to bolt onto an 1125R, but then you would still have to modify the plastic to fit, or then again, fabricate your own... I've thought about this alot in regards to my city-x. I don't like the cheesegrater, or the lack of space to hang a set of soft saddlebags. If you move the tail light back to above the plate, and fill in that space with something similiar to the M2 or S3 tail section, maybe you would have something... Like I said, I don't like the raised tails on todays bikes, and I like to be able to pack a passenger and a set of soft bags to hit the road for a week or two... My S2 does it all well enough to keep me happy, but it would be nice to have something with todays technology, and yesterdays style! C'mon Erik, are you listening? Thanks for the photoshop work guys!!! |
