Yep. It's official. Saturday night I took my beautiful girlfriend Ashley down to where I had planned on proposing and came back an engaged man. I'm stoked. She's stoked. It's a good thing all the way around. So are there any bits of information you might be kind enough to pass onto a fellow bueller with regard to planning a wedding in the coming months, dealing with inlaws, etc? I'm predicting some funny stories might make it to this thread.

My coworkers razzed me a little about it today. It's all in good fun. I asked them what made me so special? I should be miserable like the rest of them.

I second Rotzaruck!

Remember, when things sour, YOU married her, so stop complaining to everyone about it. Remember back on why you did marry her, and try to build from that. Don't forget to shower occationaly.
(Just saying that to say I'm sorry to have bored you guys with my problems in the past, I just had to learn to dig deeper holes)

Good luck, do you have any bikes for sale?

Congratulations

Let's hope she is as cool as some of the Buell wives here.

If so, it's better than all good!

I only have 2 words for you
Las Vegas!
Spend the money you won't be wasting on a big, stupid wedding and buy a house or more bikes.
Oh, one more word
Congrats!

I married a couple ON THE RACETRACK 3 months ago! Jane Schwartzkopf and Ken Ryder met about 4 years ago on a BRAG ride. They're both racers now out here at Willow Springs.

Found out that here in CA you could be deputized to perform the ceremony on a one-time basis. This is the first time somebody actually GOT MARRIED ON the track at Willow. (just don't call me Father Slaughter!)

Ceremony and vows:

Family/Friends:

Wedding party on Start/Finish line:

The ride to the reception (parade lap):

I second what Daves said. My wife and I got married in front of the fireplace in our apartment. SAVE THE MONEY!! We have been married for almost 15 years and "I" am still very happy! She may not be but I am..... Also get married on a day that is easy for you to remember. Halloween just happened to fall on a Saturday back in 1992 so we pulled the trigger. I haven't missed a anniversary yet!!

Congrats! Its a great feeling! Kate and I are getting married next April-May. I tried pulling a Daves, I told her we could get married in a field, wearing jeans and a T shirt and I would not care, we would still be married! However it has been her child hood dream to be married in an old church... We have managed to keep the price down so far to about $2,000.

A young couple was getting ready for bed while having an argument.

“Here,” said the husband, slipping out of his pants and tossing them to his wife. “Try these on.”

The wife stepped into them, but being a petite woman, they immediately fell to the floor.

“I can’t wear these,” she said. “They’re too big.”

“That’s right,” shouted the husband. “And don’t you forget who wears the pants in this family.”

The wife calmly stepped out of her underwear and tossed them across the room. “Here,” she said. “Try THESE on.”

The husband couldn’t get them up over his knees.

“This is ridiculous,” he shouted. “I can’t get into your panties.”

“That’s right,” she calmly said. “And that’s the way it’ll be until your attitude changes.”

"SAVE THE MONEY!!"

I know a couple who got married in a barn. It was the second marriage for both of them so they did away with the pomp and pressure of a big wedding. They were both dressed in denim overalls and workboots. The bride's father (who was a bank manager) got in the spirit of the occasion and brought a double-barreled shotgun to make sure the groom didn't bolt.

You better post some pics of yourselves & your bikes,.....

So we can all see the before & after shots.

Congrats anyway, I'm on my second tour, re-upped with a different unit.

+1 on save the money, we got spliced by the village mayor, & had a pig roast in the yard at home, the wedding reception lasted 2 days, but everyone chips in here to help out.

Whew! That was close. Yeah she rides a 650 ninja in fact. Although she says the my Buell doesn't appeal to her as something she'd ride, she completely understands why I dig it (and supports the cause).

Her dad jokes about
the Vegas idea too. I'd consider Lake Tahoe close enough. The place is gorgeous!

Congrats! M2nc and I have been together forever and I must say I think we're happier today than when we first started dating 25 years ago. Make the most of it and don't sweat the small stuff.

So says one of the cool ones!

I married the third of three girls. My father in law said he would pay us hard cash to elope.

I wish we had taken him up on it.

Wife and I got married on a beach in Florida, in the rain. Buddy of mine was supposed to bring a boat to rescue me. Idiot showed up in a Buick with his wife. Twenty years later my wife still tells me that I'm happily married.

Oh, marry for money....it's got to be a better idea!

Ask any REAL MAN here - in a MAN's marriage, there will be arguments. You can deal with them as long as you both know that the MAN always has the LAST WORD.

Usually it's "yes, dear."

Works well at our house! M2nc's brother-in-law adds, "anything you want dear, you look lovely"!!
