I used to have Sprint. It sucked. They have the worst coverage nationally. Verizon consistently has had the best rated coverage and customer service. I'm on my 8th year with them. |

I have a Nextel Blackberry for work. It SUCKS, but it does give me a good excuse as to why no one can contact me during off hours (the thing has almost NO coverage where I live). It also sends out this pulse interference that makes every item with a speaker near it start emitting loud, annoying static. I have no idea how Nextel locked up the business market as they have absolutely the WORST service in the industry. Someone somewhere within Sprint/Nextel has photos of the major CEOs having sex with farm animals, I think. It's the only explanation that makes any sense. |

I had a nextel. Coverage is pretty decent around here. The speaker noise (pulsing/clicking) is the IDEN network. The nextels use a lower Frequency than VZ and the others. So I found it would work better inside buildings and even in our old NOC (lots of RF interference + it was in a basement). Another nice part as Nextel had an SNPP/TAP interface, so you could send OOB SMS messages to the phone via a Modem. I actually just moved over to a Treo 755p on Sprint, and so far I haven't had any issues with it. It will roam on VZ if it can't get a sprint signal (or so our buddy @ the cell phone store tells us). The way I look at it all Cell Phone companies basically suck. (I work in telcom, so I will not go as far as saying all telephone companies suck ) Perhaps I am just lucky and around here my coverage seems to be pretty good. Most times when I have been out in the middle of nowhere, none of our cell phones got coverage (and with the group of us that included most every carrier). Now if sextel(always thought that would have been a great name for the merged company), doesn't have good coverage in your area, I can see it being bad, but as a company I don't see them to be any worse than any other of the cell companies. I guess what my long rambling boils down to is coverage. I dont' travel nationally, and the places I do go my phone works. -Patrick |

I have a Sprint Treo (Palm) it is decent, area coverage is ok, some dead spots, but I like the fact that I have no roaming. it is a nice phone w/ a ton of power, just my 2 cents |

Just switched from Nextel to AT&T. Bought an 8525 made by HTC. No complains so far. I have used it overseas and it is great. |

I've been with Sprint for 9 years. Overall, I'm very happy. If had occasion to deal with Sprint's C.S. department a handful of times across the 9 years I've been with them. And they have always been fair and friendly while sometimes hard to understand (Indian accents)... The one time I had a real problem, (wife went way over plan minutes and they shut off my service) I called them, and I said, look at my account and payment history. They immediately reinstated my service and apologized for shutting it down. |
