If you have 2 bikes, I'll go with you the next time I'm in CA. It would be worth it for the bragging rights alone.

"There we were. 130 degrees and a flat tire..." : )

BTW, if you ask on ADVrider.com you can probably find some companions, though they may not be on Ulys.

Ferris and I rode in to Furnace Creek one late afternoon about two July's back. Just happened to be the hottest day of the year that year, our luck! I was panting as hard as I could as that was the only way to get any cool air on my face. On the road at seven the next morning and it was already well over 100 and climbing.
It's a beautiful place in the winter tho.
Rhinowerx rides his Uly up to there from LA every winter for an adverture meet. Jan. or Feb. I believe.

Barker, we need to ride, dude.

I rode Sunday afternoon (my normal ride time). It was HOT!

My air conditioner conked out Friday afternoon (never Monday-Thursday). I never check the weather unless I have plans on a particular day. I finally did yesterday. 102* forecasted for today, 104* tomorrow, 102* Friday. Dayum!

Were it Vegas, it would just be hot. Throw in 95% relative humidity and you friggin' roast!

My dog got out for about three hours yesterday afternoon. We had to take him to the doggy hospital last night for heat stroke. He almost hemorraged and bled out from the heat.

I won't be able to ride this weekend, but it's just as well.

Maybe next weekend?
