I'll keep an eye out on the North side, and I'll pass this info along to another Bueller on the East side.

BUT, the one with the black rear bumper, is how it sits now...

Well, at least in Texas you can properly discourage future transgressions of this nature. You can legally defend property rights there.
sorry and good luck with recovery.

Of course, sporting around East-Coast socialist nanny-state license plates in Texas is (Almost) asking for trouble.

I once had a buddy here in Texas shoot at a guy with a shotgun that was trying to steal his truck out of the driveway. When the LEOs got there, the only question they asked when they were told shots were fired was, "Well did you get him?"

God Bless Texas

It's the same here in Georgia.
Your vehicle is an extension of your home.
Like Texas though, don't shoot 'em in the back.
If ya have to, just keep shootin' at their feet, 'til they turn around.

LOL! That's not even necessary here in Texas, especially after dark. Like Glitch said though, get them to turn around first. Shame on them for being on your property pilfering around down here.

Now all jokes aside, I have to say that I don't think I'd kill somebody over a vehicle, but it is nice to know that the law's on the citizen's side when it comes to protecting the home front just in case.

Meh, don't think of it as killing someone over a vehicle... think of it more of ridding the world of one more piece of crap, low life, scumbag, thief...

I hates me a thief.

Chasespeed.. I hope you get your truck back in good condition!

LEO: "How come he has so many bullet holes in his back, and only one in the front?"
Me: "It took several shots before his curiosity got the better of him."

Now that you mention it, I was thinking of my truck when I said I wouldn't kill somebody to protect my property. Now if I actually caught somebody in my garage trying to steal my Buell, well let's just say they better not make any sudden moves. The truck is one thing, but messing with a man's bike would be adding insult to the injury. That just may be taking it a little too far IMO.

Very true, if there is one thing I picked up in the military, is, shoot to kill, not maim or injure.

Now, truck is in impound, and I need to find the money to get the truck out, buy 2 front tires, and 2 pieces of glass....

And, I dont think this guy will touch my stuff again, its the same guy who "stole" it from my ex wife the last time(though, she doesnt get the truck back, her mom bought her a new car already)....

I prefer the Islamic custom of removing the right hand of thieves.

Makes it a bitch to jimmy the lock with a nub.

This should hold true in the civilian world too. Shoot a low life in the leg and he'll sue you for every thing you own. Shoot 'em if you REALLY need to but don't leave 'em breathing.

I read about a burgler who sued a home owner for the dog bites he suffered while ransacking a home while the the owners were away. Must have been a big dog.

There was also a case a few years back, This lady was shopping at Walmart or something. A little kid was playing on the round racks they hang clothes on. Kid comes flying out at the lady and she gets tripped up and falls on the ground. She sues the store for not keeping a safe shopping enviroment, clothes and hangers on the floor. They settle. Free money for her. The kicker is, The kid who made the mess and knocked the lady down was her own son.

Where I live, you can be sued for farting in your own car.

FWIW,
