in need of tech help on 04 XB12R. bike has 21,938 miles on it bike left dealership with buell race kit on. around 20,000 mile bike started surging badly at any RPM any Speed and any Gear. 20,000 mile service perform by HD and Buell shop Tech says can't fin anything wrong. put new coil in new plugs reset TPS and AFM on digital tech, chech fuel tanks vent to make sure its not vapor locking. After 20,000 service the surging stopped for a week or so then came back. Tech say there are no trouble codes showing up so they cant fix it. "you will just have to deal with until something finally brakes or shows a trouble code." My concer is getting run over by a car when this happens. Please any help would be great

Is there a chance your throttle is sticking open?

Check for an intake leak. Get bike started, hold throttle open to about 2000 RPM, then squirt some 2+2 or brake clean on your intake seals. If the idle jumps up, you have an intake leak. Replace both seals, ensuring that you adequately lubricate the new seals prior to re-assembly. Clean oil is fine, silicone o-ring lube is also good.

Hope this helps

Chris
