Buell to Celebrate 25th Anniversary with Riders in 2008

Details of July 2-6 Events in Wisconsin to be Announced in the Coming Months

EAST TROY, Wis. (July 26, 2007) – Fresh off its successful 2007 Homecoming events, Buell Motorcycle Company has announced the dates of the 2008 Buell 25th Anniversary activities in Wisconsin next summer. The events will take place July 2-6, 2008 at various locations, including the Buell Motorcycle Company facilities in East Troy, Wis. and other surrounding communities.

“We just had a great time celebrating our 2007 Homecoming with Buell owners, riders and enthusiasts,” said Erik Buell, Chairman and Chief Technical Officer. “We also announced the launch of our exciting new liquid-cooled 1125R motorcycle. For 2008, we will be marking a major milestone, so we want the Buell 25th Anniversary celebration to be very special and to reflect the unique personality of the Company and our riders.”

Attendance at the 2007 Buell Homecoming beat all previous records and generated much excitement about the 25th Anniversary events in 2008. Besides announcing the new 1125R sportbike, Buell also announced that all 2008 models except the Blast will carry a commemorative badge featuring Erik’s signature.

Highlights of 2007 Buell Homecoming events included self-guided factory tours, a lunch with Erik and Buell employees, technical seminars, autographs with Erik and stunt rider Bubba Blackwell, a vintage Buell motorcycle display, hospitality for owners at the ASRA Pro/CCS and MOTO-ST motorcycle races at Road America including a racer autograph session and a parade lap of the track. Local Buell dealers also hosted events including Team Extreme stunt riders at Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell in New Berlin, Wis., followed by a ride to Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wis. for the Midwest Shootout, and a Uke’s Harley-Davidson/Buell ride from East Troy to Kenosha, Wis., with a Bubba Blackwell performance at Uke’s along with a cookout and museum tour.

With more details and announcements coming soon, some of the events planned for the Buell 25th Anniversary Homecoming include music and festivities at Milwaukee’s Summerfest Grounds, racing, plant tours, bike displays, demo rides, stunt shows, dealership activities and more. See the owners section of www.buell.com for additional information and updates.

The 105th H-D/HOG rally is Aug. 28-31, with rides from Aug.17th-27th, so no direct Buell overlap.

Interesting.

Woo-Hoo! I'm glad they are making plans this far in advance. This bodes well for the...intensity...of next Homecoming!

Hey Steve, would you still be willing to have a couple of visitors for homecoming? (it's becoming a bit of a tradition )

I think that it is pretty stupid to have it over the holiday. Following the holiday was ok, Some of us actually have family obligations on a holiday, imagine that.

It is cool that they announced it a year early.

It's ALWAYS a compromise.

Just think, if we'd done the traditional (just like we did the year the RR-1200 was introduced) weekend this last week, we'd have been swimming during the entire event.

Many folks will be coming from very far away and this is a great chance to plan a holiday and get a couple "free" days in the middle.

Who in the world better to celebrate America's birthday with than a group of Buell owners?

Special thanks goes to Jon Flickinger who, after he asked, "what can we do to make the experience better for owners" committed, and followed through, with an announcement a year in advance. I expect at least 50 folks from overeseas . . . this is VERY cool.

And if you are coming from overseas it is not a holiday so you would have no other plans.

July 2-6, 2008? Why do they have to have it over the 4th of July? Oh well, I might make it next year. I just wonder if I'll be riding the old M2 or a brand new 1125R?

Hey Mikej, what did I tell ya, LOL.

Brian, I'm sure that Steve and Toni will come through as always. But don't forget, I have a big backyard.

To everyone else, I had a great time planning and carrying out this year's activities at Hal's. It really was great to finally meet a number of you and finally put faces to the names. I know that the next year in the life of Buell is going to be the best it has ever been and what better time to do it than during their 25th year. I look forward to the challenges during the next 12 months and baby is this going to be a party!!!!!!!

Man! I know of no other company that listens to its consumers like Buell. Everybody complained about the late notice for Homecoming 07, so they announce Homecoming 08 a year in advance!

My problem with the holiday thing is not family obligations... but that I'm fairly low on the totem pole, and it could very well be difficult to get time off work around a holiday! I will try my darnedest though!

Anybody know..... What was the bigger (attendance) event this year, Homecoming, or MB4?

I really hope to make it to both next year!

Personally I think the timing is great. If ya can't make it, oh well. Can't please everyone. If they had waited until the spring to announce it, people would be b!tchin' about that.

An old man, a boy & a donkey were going to town. The boy rode
on the donkey & the old man walked. As they went along they passed
some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking and the
boy was riding.
The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they
changed positions.
Then, later, they passed some people who remarked, "What a
shame, he makes that little boy walk."
So they then decided they'd both walk! Soon they passed some
more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride. So, they both rode the donkey. Now they passed some
people who shamed them by saying how awful to put such a load on a
poor donkey.
The boy and man figured they were probably right, so they
decide to carry the donkey. As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip
on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned.
The moral of the story?
If you try to please everyone, you might as well...
Kiss your ass goodbye!
Have A Nice Day &
Be Careful With Your Donkey

July 4th, 2008 is a Friday, which will make it a 3-day weekend for many. I haven't checked the 2008 race schedule but I assume race tickets will be part of the 2008 deal.

"I can't wait to see what Crusty is going to bring next year!!"

With his deleted edited comment and the donkey story I'm not sure if I should be curious or scared of what he might build for 2008. I'd suggest a keyfob maybe?????

BudC,
Yep! If I get a house sold I'll be down to renew my BRAGH.O.G. membership and maybe get another trade-in quote.

Now I've got this song running around in my head and I can't make it stop....
"...you can't please everyone so you've got to please yourself..."

(Ah hahhhhh, I think I've just figured out the Crusty riddle... garden party... can't please everyone ... I think I got it... )
http://www.lyricsdepot.com/ricky-nelson/garden-par ty.html

Crusty, how'd I do?????

I think I'd better get to learnin' the guitar, there's liable to be a bit of music next July around here....

Rocketsprink said, "Can't please everyone.", and I just got the donkey story in an E-mail the other day, so I figured I'd share it.
Wolf, my access to the machine shop at work has become very, uh, limited. I wore out my welcome, so to speak. So I won't be making anything like Bazooties or Drain Plugs. However, I do have an Idea for a little "Enhancer" for next year. If I can pull it together, it should be neat.(in a subdued sort of way)
Oh; I'll have enough for everyone there, as well.

What better way to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of an American Motorcycle Company, than on the birth day of America!!! I am making plans to be there!!

Not sure which had a bigger turn out, but I'd suspect a lot more people were aware of Homecoming as oppossed to MB4.

How the Hell am I supposed to be able to plan anything that far in advance. I own a business for crying out loud! I won't know if I can go until the time gets closer. For this year I wasn't able to make the decision until July 2nd. If I plan this far ahead it will mean nothing.

Now, I just hope I don't get called up for deployment during that time. And, I'm friggin stoked!

I will forego all 4th of July traditions I had to make this...

Last year was awesome, I hope they have track demos again so I can drag pegs on every bike again! Maybe the could have some time for those of us that would like to take our own bikes on the track? That'd be killer!

One thing I think we should do is make some t-shirts with our BWB name on it, or some nametags, because I got sick of asking people, "Hey, are you on BadWeb?" Just an idea!

Works for me!
