This is too good not to share, please pass this along.

At my last track day when I went to put the bike up on the stands I discovered my front Pit Bull stand was broken. I was able to rig it up so I could get my tires changed, but I was bummed because the stand is a few years old and I don't have the receipt so I thought I'd be out of luck for any warranty coverage. I wasn't sure what Pit Bull's policy was on warranty or replacement parts, so I sent them this email:

Subject: Pit-bull stand warranty or replacement parts?

At my last track event I discovered that my front pit-bull stand is broken. There is a cracked weld on the pivot pin where the top and bottom portions of the stand join together. Would a failure like this be covered under any sort of warranty? If not, can I purchase replacement parts for stands without having to replace the entire stand?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

The next morning I received the following email from George at Pit Bull:

Michael,

Let me start by saying whatever broke will be replaced at no cost to you. I'm assuming the broken weld is on what we call our pivot plate, which is a flat plate with a peg welded onto it. Is the peg that was welded onto this plate stuck inside the stand? Let me know and we will get all applicable parts sent to you a.s.a.p. Please send us a shipping address and daytime telephone number and we'll get your replacement parts on the way immediately. I apologize for the cracked weld on that part. We strive to produce a flawless product every time but once in a while we hear of a flaw or problem. Rest assured we will always stand behind our products 100%. We'll look forward to hearing back from you. Have a good one Mike.

I was stoked to receive such a reply. I sent them an email thanking them for their excellent response and giving them the details of the broken part along with my shipping address. Less than 30 minutes later I received the following response from George:

Michael,

I'm glad that we have exceeded your expectations in this matter. We
will get you a new set of pivot plates sent out today. We will send
the parts by UPS 2 Day service to make sure you have them by Friday
just in case you need to work on your bike this weekend. There will
be a small zip lock bag with grease inside it inside the package.
Apply a small amount of that grease to the peg that goes inside the
stand and that added lubrication should help prevent future problems.
If you should have any further issues at all, please let me know. It
is our goal to make sure every customer is 100% satisfied no matter
how long they own their stand.
Your UPS tracking number will be: (removed)
Thanks for choosing Pit Bull and have a good day.

I was completely blown away. No proof of purchase needed, no mention of how the failure happened (for all they know I could have run over the stand with my truck), no questions asked, and replacement parts sent out using 2 day service at no cost to me? This is exceptional customer service. I don't know when my next stand purchase will be since my current stands are covered for life, but I guarantee the next time I buy stands they will come from Pit Bull.

Wow, Excellent testimonial. Thanks for sharing that.

It's great to see companies standing by their products. It seems these days there are so many companies just trying to make a buck and if they can charge something extra or if they can make you replace something at your own expense, they just chalk it up to another sale.

Kudos to Pit Bull products, response like this is what sets a company above the rest.

This is WHY I own Pit Bulls. Yes, the cheaper stands from China that look like the Pit Bulls are certainly cheaper but the Pit Bulls are designed by a racer, built domestically... all the usual stuff.

The Chinese knock-offs sure do seem to sell. If you are a manufacturer, it's kinda nice to have the development work done by Pit Bull to save on your up-front costs!

...but that's just me.

Why Pit Bull stands rock

Mine doesn't rock...it must be that your floor isn't flat. Mine are solid as a rock.

Well, you fellas can't be too smart 'cause you could have bought a front AND rear stand on ebay for what you paid for just a rear stand from Pit-Bull!

And the T-stands on ebay have to be better seeing that they have all of those extra bolts, tubing gussets and lawn chair quality square section tubing!

Sorry - sarcasm overflow from a previous thread.

I got my Pit-Bull rear stand a month or so ago, solid as a rock and worth every cent. Oh, and made in the USA and not in a sweatshop.

Will the "standard" PB rear stand work with the Firebolt (without having to install spools)?

This is awesome to hear. It's not often that a company stands behind their products this much. For Pit Bull it only makes sense IMO because they can keep a customer satisfied and in return get good word of mouth advertisement at a very low cost. You have to figure that very few Pit Bull stands fail because they are so well made. This means that warranty repair or replacements have to be a very small part of Pit Bull's expenses. And it's certainly nothing in comparison to the amount of free word of mouth advertisement they get from satisfied customers.
