Went to a local KTM dealer the other day to check out what they had in stock for grips for the regular Lightning bars I just got for my CityX. They had a Super Duke in the show room. It stole my biking heart. I've liked them since I first saw pictures a while back, but still only as much as the Lightnings. But after seeing one in person I can't help it I'm hooked. I figure for the riding I do, it wont be drastically better than the 05 XB9SX I currently ride every day (and love), but the styling... ARRGHH It just does it 120% for me. I'm going to head back there tomorrow and give it a good look over and talk to the owner of the shop about a potential future purchase.. doubt I will do a trade in as I highly doubt I'll get what I want out of my bike. I've got the Buell Race Exhaust, Race ECM, K&N Filter, ventura rack, a big big big Givi case, Buell tank bag, saddle bags, trunk bag, new brake pads on front, new bars, stock ECM, stock filter (new) and sweet flat black paint on the seat rails, tank, and windscreen hehe  . So you get what I'm saying, I doubt they would/could give me what the bike could bring in, in a private sale. We'll see what they are asking for it tomorrow and if they do financing. I'm part owner of a Goin' Postal in King, NC... but will probably have to get a part time job to be able to finance anything, since the business hasn't been open but a year and a half. ANYWAYS... I'm excited :P | ||

I saw at least two at Deal's Gap last week (both black). Technically I think they're very impressive and I'm glad you like the way they look. Seems like a HUGE, long bike compared to an XB. Of course, if you can stand to wait a year, I suspect Buell will have an 1125S that might give it a run for its money...  | ||

I swear every time I go to my local KTM dealer one of the Supu-dukes calls out "psst,,,, yeah you,,,, come over here and sit on me." and im am a pushover. A guy two blocks from my house traded his SV1000 for one. His only comment. "I wish I had not waited as long as I did." I rarely saw him on his SV. I see the duke all the time. Nice bike. |
