the top is a wood called sapele, it's very much like mahogany, good guess.
the guitar does sound as sweet as it looks!
it will be a rare guitar shortly as garrison was bought out by gibson on july 4th, i love the look of the sapele and had this guitar custom made, i could have bought the g41 but i wanted everything else from the g50! i love it, i went with the ebony board and bridge, abalone inlaid board and pins, east indian rosewood back and sides! i wish i had the means to play it on youtube or something it sounds incredible!

That is a gorgeous guitar . . . you and I are the only two things that Gibson or Fender don't own!

Hey RJ-

Zat your PRS? I own an early 90's (91?) CE 24 bolt-on. Sweet guitar. I wanted a bolt-on - but they didn't do the bird inlays on bolt-ons back then. No birdies for me, I guess.

Interesting tones come outta those guitars.

They are built right here in Newfoundland....

Don't know whats going to become of them now that Gibson has purchased them.

My daughter has two Garrisons.

There are still quite a few at Griffith's Guitar Works that were made before the sale of Garrision

No, Saro, my ex brother-in-law has a "private stock" Paul Reed Smith. They are made locally so I went down with him to the factory to pick his up. Really cool guitars and really cool people. The vibe at the factory is very much like the vibe you get at Buell - people passionate about their work.

I've been to Garrison's Factory a couple times and its a very fun place to be.

Just to see how the wood is hand picked and matched, assembled and finished is amazing.
