I was at my local dealer the other day and spoke to him about the possibility of trading in my 2007 Superglide for a Ulysses. I had a thread on here about it. Well after speaking to him the deal could be pretty good. I owe 11500 on the superglide. They would give me around 9000. They have a leftover Ulysses for $10400. Along with their lower interest rate incentive and others My loan would be right about where I am now if I cough up another grand in cash. I would loose a little money on the superlide but not much (Around $2000)

I could do the deal right now BUT
Me and the wofe are taking the bike to Nova Scotia in a week. I would not have enough time to do all the red tape stuff, break it in, and service it before the trip. I also wanted to take one long trip on the Superglide to make sure I want to do this. There is also the possibility that if Buell does come out with something big this sunday the prices on the bikes in stock will plummet.

I don't hate my bike, I just have always wanted a Buell. There is still the remote possibility I change my mind and just look for a used XB9 or something and keep the HD for the two up rides with my wife. Or if I keep the SG I would look for a left over cityx.

I will update after I get back.

My suggestion is to go the used XB route. That's what I did. I still have my Softail, and found a used 2003 XB9r for $5k. Look around, '03 XB's are cheap, and plenty. Then you can have the best of both worlds.

Tough decision but I'd keep the superglide (the 07 is a sweet ride) and get a used buell for when you feel like tearing it up. Take the trip on the 'glide to see how it tours with two people. If you're not that happy then by all means get the Ulysses.

In the end, get what makes you happy and don't worry about whether or not you're losing money on the deal. Nobody buys a motorcycle as an investment. My buddy is only 31 years old and on his 33rd motorcycle. He's lost money on every one and couldn't be happier (although he does occasionally say "I wish I still had my . . .).
