So what to you roosters think about Bonds, B. hitting ~ 755?
Is it as 'emotive' an issue as reported?

For some of us it is. I just can't stand to watch baseball anymore. When the sport is filled with players like Bonds, it really lost its luster for me. As with anything else money is king in the game now. The day of having your favorite player, on your favorite team, has long since died. I was fortunate to be able to grow up watching players like George Brett (my personal favorite), Tony Gwynn, Ryan Sandberg, Robin Yount, Cal Ripkin Jr. and Ozzie Smith. I can't really think of too many players who I still enjoy watching.

Know what you mean: Al Kaline, Mickey Mantle, Reggie Jackson, Harmon Killebrew, Denny McLain, Bob Gibson, Jim Palmer, Brooks and Frank Robinson, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Juan Marichel, Willie Mays, Willie Stargell, Roberto Clemente, Roger Maris and Hank Aaron
... Baseball used to be my life. Now, I just look to see if the Twins won. I don't know anyone on the team, but when they do well it pisses off the Commissioner.

If ever there was a good case for an asterisk next to a record, this is it.

Barry Bonds just reminds me of how great Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron were. It must have been hard hitting 'em out of the park with a raging hangover (or still drunk) or the fear that some maniac will kill you at your next at bat.

Those players were real.

It's been interesting for me - I've only had live baseball for 7 years - we used to get a highlights package before that - and I played a few games in high school. But only since cable with ESPN. So I guess I have their attitudes or the PTI guys.

I can still hit 100mph on the gun at the museum, (6'5" 255 - true) but it's likely to take out the lights or the speaker system.
