Try calling Arty Trahan at Artco designs in Seekonk Massachusetts. I can vouch for him.He painted my Sportster twice with different designs.Reasonably priced but, shys away from stock paint schemes.I can post his work. He's at 1-508-336-0413 and specializes in helmets.Hockey goalie helmets are his main work as well as moto-x helmets. |

When it comes to tuber tanks..its in the prep for sure. Get a painter that has had good results with painting them or you may have heartache. My painter will not touch a tube frame tank. He has never done one.... but has seen what can happen. He has chosen not to mess with them. The person to talk to that actually has had their pearl white S1WL would be Lake Bueller. He had his done and the guy did a exceptional job. He also prepped in a way different way so that the bubbling would not happen again. |

I saw the title of this thread & I thought... Hmm, wonder if it's an old Sherman, or an ex east bloc T34, or even a quick Scorpion with it's Jag engines. Never mind I'll just have to buy my own I guess. It'll p**s the neighbours off but what the hell. |

Mr. Grumpy, that was my thoughts exactly! I got about 6 gallons of OD paint to finish up my 1/4 ton trailer, our '41 staff car, and future projects! S1W, I am heading to my buddies shop today here in about an hour for an inspection, I will see if he knows of a place. I am down around Gettysburg area. |

John... Do you have the paint, thinner and clearcoat? If not, good luck matching the paint. Sikkens doesn't make it any longer. So people might think it's outrageous, but I paid $300 to have mine done right. That included mostly just the labor (I supplied the materials). From what I understand, they put a barrier coat layer under the primer. It's supposed to stop the vapor (cause of bubbling paint) from seeping. If you're interested, I can PM you the painter's contact info. |
