These are the "angel eyes" with the LED ring. One seems to be brighter than the stock,...the have the H3 primary bulb. I was thinking about gutting them and installing HID's with a balast, but I figure I don't need unnecesary electrical problems.

I cut a piece of aluminum AC tubing for the spacers, but I had to add a few washers to make the bolts fit. (they were about 3mm too long)

I have it wired so one is constant on, and the other is high beam, at a slightly higher angle.

Has anyone had any experience with the HID balasts?

(Edited due to picture size, Thank you to Jim for resizing)

Oh yeah,...I'm also cutting out the flyscreen to fit around the lights, I'll post a pic when it's finished. It will probably be a while as I need to finish painting them. I'm doing a custom airbrush job on my extra plastics now.

I don't think those photos are nearly large enough. Could you post BIGGER ones??

I have an HID kit on mine. They work great. The trick is where you plan to locate them. Many with S models have mounted them in the airbox.

Riders Warehouse has an HID kit with both 8300K and 5000K capsules. $180 per kit.

Someone make them smaller.

My HID kit on my 9sx is working perfectly as well. Stashing the ballasts and relays are the PITA part... no room for mercy on a 9s.

I like them, but for the money and time to install, wonder if I could have put on something like you fabricated that uses conventional bulbs but in a better housing. Maybe, but probably not. The HID install was mainly fussing with bolting ballasts in and routing cables. The fabrication excercise would no doubt have been many efforts over many months to debug the unexpected.

You don't like the fine detail to see the bracket? I was thinking people may want to see the mounting option.

Sorry they are so large, It's a nice camera....but no photo editing software at work. If you want them smaller, I would be happy to post the edited pictures.

If your really want them larger, I do have a macro close-up lens if you need to see the machined details of the bolts, or the dead insect carcases. ;) (hopefully obvious sarcasm)

Thanks Jim!

Looks like you can see hubcat in the background, an 18 year old tabby. He runs the neighborhood streets.
