Author Message   Firemanjim Posted on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 - 01:29 am:        I was at work at the firehouse today when Terry Parsley calls and says he has a phone number of someone who wanted to get hold of me. This was a Buell rider with a bike broken at Vallejo Buell. He had an S-2 with a broken r/s handlebar(turned out it was NOT a tall recall one) and after checking availability of the bar--and finding none,of course-- they called Terry to get my number as maybe having a "few" S-2 parts. So I dial up the number and the voice that answers sounds familiar,---turns out it is a long time Buell/S-2 friend of mine from Monterey. Larry Friese and his wife,Lillian had trucked their bikes up to do some riding in the wine country,when he unloaded the bikes he saw the weld was broken on his bar. So I call the wife and she roots through my spares and finds a box of handlebars with one--count em--one R/S short bar. Eureka. Larry rode up to the domicile and snagged the bar! Larry and Lillian had hosted me at their Monterey digs for the Superbike races and were outstanding in the help I got when my motor handgrenaded on the way to the track. So it was time for some payback, Larry asked how much I wanted for the bar.My reply was "A beer".
