I am excited to go. But the plans are made, so whats to talk about. Leaving very early thursday morning to make it to Hals, Friday Factory Uke's and the Ponza Rottas', Saturday Road America.

Hopefully lots laughs and back slapping. And putting some faces with the names I see here.

The mountain roads down at TWO may not be as fast or safe as the track, but I rode well over 300 miles of amazing roads on Friday alone, and never hit the same road twice (except the Dragon of course) then almost 300 more miles Saturday, and 200 more Sunday.
I'll take endless miles of twisty mountain roads over a few hours on a Track anyday.

I've got some of the best riding in the country right in my neck of the woods. If all I wanted was to ride good roads, I wouldn't have to go anywhere.
However, I get to see a Moto ST race, hear Erik and the Thunderbolts, see Bubba Blackwell and other stunters, go to Great Lakes Dragway, meet and talk with the people who built my bike, see the Factory, get a History lesson about Buells,Demo whatever new Buell I feel like, meet with old friends and make new friends. All the while surrounded by Buells, and the people who are enthused about them.
I didn't start this thread to compare the two events. If things had been a little different in my life, I would have attended both; and I plan to be at both MB V and the 25th Anniversary, next year. I was just trying to figure out why one had over 2000 posts, while the other has less than 10% of that.

MikeF5000, You will need to be bumped to the intermediate group at Mid Ohio for the inside pass event. I have ridden with you and you will be able to handle the quicker pace with ease. Believe me.... once you get a taste of the track it will be all you think about. When I was in the B group at Nelson Ledges we hit speeds of 135 + or - then squeeeeeeeeeze the brakes for some tire burning turns and then back on the hammer. Track time = GREAT TIME!!

I can't wait to get on Road America even if its for some slow parade laps. It may get me to sign up for the Inside Pass event there next year.

Uly rider seeks Buell rider to split hotel cost....

I have a non-smoking room reserved at the

Sleep Inn
945 Greenwald Court
Mukwonago, WI 53149

for Thursday, Friday & Saturday The room cost is $300 bucks so $150 gets you in the door.

I will be arriving in Milwaukee at 6:15pm via the Lake Express. So it will be early evening before I get to the Hotel. I plan to go to the Boiler Room and see Erik and the Thunderbolts Thursday night so If you plan on doing the same I could just meet you there.

Please have you $$$ up front so feel the need to sick Rocketman on you......

NO... Unless its about who is picking up the tab (you will win)
NO... No matter how much you/I drink
NO... No matter how much you/I snore
NO... If you are a Navy Vet, please control yourself
NO... Because you don't want to start a war that you will lose.

Not discounting the events at Homecoming, but I am roughly 12 hours from there and 8 or so from the mountains.

At MB II I got to met and speak with Erik, have my picture taken with him, watch him watch other guys replacing a rear motor mount (with the help of a log!!!) and he signed my fly screen (I did miss him playing guitar though).

But like I said, should the occasion arise for me to attend a Homecoming I will at least once (it just can't interefere with the ride time).

That said, I am from the land of the flat and straight (Fl), so twisty time is very, very, very, very hard to come by. So I try and squeeze in all the twistie time I can when I get there!!

To each is to his own... that is the great thing about riding!!! Don't like where you are going, take a different road :-)
