I had a bit of a mishap on my X1 and have replaced the bars with dirtbike bars.
I wanted to install barkbusters on there to scare yuppies but the levers are too long to fit inside.

Are there other bikes that have similar levers?
Are XB levers the same as mine?

I don't want to cut my levers. I would rather install new stubby levers.

I think S3T brake levers are the same as XB brake levers at the reservoir end but the XB lever have the adjustment thingy, the XB brake lever is the same as the Busa and one of the 900 cc Kwakas, I bought mine aftermarket as a spare for Aus $35 (about US $28) as our local Buell dealer does not carry spares either, I'm sure the clutch lever would be available aftermarket as well, Hope this helps.

NOOOOO!!!

The tuber and XB brake levers are NOT the same and are NOT interchangeable. I'd have to look at them to be sure which way is which, and I'm at home at the moment, but the "cam" that pushes on the piston is longer on one than the other. If you put the longer cam on the one that was supposed to have the shorter one, the bleed port in the MC won't uncover and the front brakes will lock up at an inopportune moment. If you do it the other way around, you just get a floppy lever.

I think they have some aftermarket levers for tubers on American SportBike.

What I would really like is a set of stubby dirtbike levers.

I guess the thing to do is to rip them off and bring them into a japanese dealer and ask them?

I also want stubby levers.

They're pretty low on my list of needs though.

I was just out screwing around in the garage... I mean doing important research.

I tore off the clutch lever from my sad old KLR250 and found that the pivot diameter was the same as Buell's but that the barrel at the end of the cable was larger for the Buell.
Well I drilled it out to match the Buell's and found that the curvature of the lever bumped into the switch cluster.

I hate to say it but it looks like the most easy/cheap thing to do here is to kill my stock levers.
