Hey Guys, This is kind of off topic but My wife and I are trying to decide where we will be buying our home to retire in. We pretty much decided on North Carolina but wan,t to know the best location/counties. We will buy the house early next year and rent it out for about 10 years until we retire. Then we can sell our home in So.california and rennovate it. We looking for clean, upscale neighborhoods preferably near a lake with at least 1 acre lots.We just don,t know where to start looking. Thanks in advance,John |

Maybe I shouldn't use the word "upscale" but use "well established" maybe even in a historical area. Thanks,John |

Asheville Minutes from GREAT riding = Blue Ridge Parkway and the Dragon isn't to far. HGTV did a dream home there a couple of years ago. So its got to be good. Just my .02 (Message edited by wolfridgerider on June 01, 2007) |

Euro - check out Carolina Corner Carvers. We have members from the coast to the mountains. They can help give you an idea of the areas around them. Best of luck in your search. Kristi
