been having some fun this morning with a camera rig. Left hand guard mounting, Kodak C643 point and shoot digital camera set to take 640*480 @ 30 fps. need to work on a better microphone setup, and a camera with an image stabilizer would be better, but not too shabby for a first attempt.
pic of the rig here: http://www.geocities.com/wanderer4x4/images/camera_rig.jpg

I've also embedded a couple of the videos on youtube/geocities for anyone interested http://www.geocities.com/wanderer4x4/motovideos.html

thanks - this was a shake down ride, to see how well it'd work on a (theoretically) smooth surface. The odd valve train clacking on the audio track is from having the camera mounted within 12" of the air intake - at low rpms, you can hear the intake noises. As for the venue, dirt is good, but the roads around here dont exactly suck, either

gotta find a better video host though, 'cause the YouTube version sucks compared to the original.

I had good luck with a bullet cam mounted to a RAM camera mount. The bullet cam plugs into a camcorder.

The camera appears to have survived my wreck, though I haven't pulled it off the carcass to test it.

Slamber777, do you mean hwy 33, or the 'big white road' from 33 up to 'big white village'?? I do the hwy regularly, the big white road not so much. south down 97 to Osooyoos, up over anarchist mtn to rock creek, then back up 33 to K town is a pretty normal sunday AM ride for me. incidentally, where are you, and what do you ride? (looked later in the day - let me know if you're ever coming up from Omak, and we can most likely meet up)

CityXSlicker - I should have some video footage of the Gillard / Chute lake area for you shortly. Gotta swap over to the MT60's to do those roads justice though.

Sanchez - no extra equipment required on the rig I'm using: camera stores direct to its SD card. I actually prefer this setup as I can do HDR spreads, 6.1 mp stills, and burst shooting all from the same fixed mount. I just reach over with my left hand while riding, and change the settings as needed( so long as I have my touring gloves on, anyway - my motard gloves I cant do more than push the on-off button)

on edit - one major drawback to the bullet cams I've seen is cost. camera, and memory card were $100 canadian, and I had the (speaker) mount just lying around. It comes off with 2 thumbscrews in about 10 seconds, btw.

Running through a Dunlop donut now, looking for the next oil service and I will shod up with a set of the MT60s for a dirty summer. How do they handle on the pavement to the trails ?

so long as you're asking about the MT60RS Corsa's, pretty good - apparently they're a slightly different tread and compound of the 'standard'MT60's though.

I got about 2/3 the life out of my rear as compared to my Sync's...but it may not have been a fair test, as I had a bad flat in the middle of BFN, and had to ride out with no air.
