Just saw one of these in the flesh... damn, what a sexy bike! I'm thinking about heading back down to give it a test ride. Anyone here have any experience with this bike?

The KTM appears to me to share a lot with the Buell XB's; nimble, quirky (in a good way), powerful, but to an even greater degree.

Yea, it's all that and the bag of chips, but it's liquid cooled. That's a deal breaker for me.

Have you ridden one? It sure felt XBish sitting on it even with the extra height. Even lighter, actually.

I can see what you mean about the non-aircooled engine, but in some ways I'm wondering if liquid cooled might even be an advantage for me.

B:

GREAT AD! . . . the "air" at 1:28 was my favorite.

I had the pleasure, last year (don't ask), to take a TT down Nature Trail.

Ohmygosh . . . kudos to their ad agency.

That's a great ad, I can just see the guy taking it back to the dealers after that ride & saying, "Thanks for the demo I'll think about it"

I've been looking at new bikes lately and rode a Ducati GT1000. I took the wife by the dealership to show it to her, and she points to the Super Duke and says "What's that, I like it!!"...I may just need to go give that a demo ride. This isn't a deal breaker but I have heard the get poor mpg.

Bmonty72, what did you think of the GT1000? Looks cool, but I'm not sure I'd really be getting a vastly different experience on that than my Cyclone.

I was very comfortable on the GT. You sit high up kinda like the STT. The front wheel seems a little more out in front than on the buell. The bike was really kinda mild mannered on surface roads, but once you hits about 4500 rpm, it was a different bike. This was on a guided demo ride so I didn't go out and flail this thing around. Overall, I really liked it, but after I rode the STT, I figured the buell was just as much fun to ride, was easier to maintain, and would be cheaper to repair if bad things ever happened.

Kinda irresponsible to be doing all that in traffic. Is that size bike even allowed over there, isn't there some engine size restriction?

Sorry, that was my initial reaction, thats all.

Oh, yeah, one more thing, They keep putting the fuel in the wrong place!

I've been trying to fine SOMEBODY who has one of those in the showroom with no success so far. Not one KTM dealer in my area has ever had one in stock.
