Went up to Battlefield HD today to pick up some gaskets for my first service and guess what? "We don't carry Buell anymore". So the $8952 for my 07 TT was not cause they wanted to give me a deal, it's cause they wanted to get it out the door, along with the CG and ULY they had. They said they would still service them, just not carry parts/clothing or the bikes anymore. So much for their performance image, they only had one VRod and the rest were a bunch of overweight bikes! Even the Buell clothing rack was gone. Kinda disappointed in their decision, but I won't complain about the price I got and I sure love the bike. Guess it was a business thing, they're still great folks to deal with......just needed to vent...

Hey, $8952 for a TT is a smoking good deal on a smoking good bike. How bad can it be?

I just had a Harley dealer 10 miles from me *start* carrying Buells. Not perfect yet, but better then some already.

In 17k+ miles on an 05 XB9SX, all my dealer got out of me is tires, fluids, brake pads, a clutch cable, and a couple fasteners I broke by persistent putzing. Of that, the tires and fluids can be gotten many places... and the rest will ship just fine.

My local Buell dealer has bikes, NO BUELL clothing rack. Never has, never will according to the clothing chick.

I am done fighting with my local dealer. I will order from people who want my business.

i enjoyed the ride out there, even if it was just to look at their bleak clothing rack?

I've always been a big fan of getting Buell out of the dealerships that don't want it. Now if only HD would let dealers of other brands pick up Buell, maybe these bikes would get the support and respect they deserve.

I'm not complaining about the deal, that's for sure ! I had it on the road with tax tag and title for a couple bucks under 5 figures....less than MSRP. Just sad to see them drop the line, it added some spice to their showroom floor. I really don't care about the parts, seem to be enough folks out there selling anything and everything on the net.

Nine Grand! you got a DEAL my friend.

If I want one here (& believe me I do) it'll cost me around $15k new.

So just smile & sing Chuck Berry's "Living in the USA" as you ride.

not for nothing guys if you dont support your local dealer how is he suppose to stay in business.it costs alot of money every month to have bikes sitting on the floor.the motorcompany dont just give you the bikes and you can pay them when you sell it.we do stock about every piece of clothing and a bunch of acc. for the guys that cant find what u are looking for.we like buells so we will continue to do this with everyones support.

I support my dealer. Bought an 06 VRSCA last year and the TT this year. I buy all my maintenance stuff (other than oil) through them. Now they tell me I won't even be able to get the inspection and clutch cover gasket when they run out. That's bad dealership juju. I will admit, though, they only give a 10% deal every now and then, I got 20% off my Sundowner and Windshield from Zanotti, with shipping close to tax. That's $60 I just couldn't afford to give them.

There's a rear sparkplug.....???

Welcome to the Twisted Edge, way out in Silverdale. The only way we will not have Buells on the floor is because we SOLD OUT of them. Of course that is my goal. Down to 6 for 2007, get em while they last.

I still remember going in to get an air filter for my XB12R in '05. It wasn't in stock (naturally) AND they tried to charge me a special order fee to get it!! I ordered a K/N from Daves instead.

This deal is bad for me also because I live only 8 miles from Battlefield HD. I was informed last Wed. when I dropped my bike off to get fork oil changed and they did not even have parts to do that. Now I have to go at least 50 miles in either direction to get work done. They are nice people at the dealership , but I just don't think there was much effort put into selling Buells at Battlefield.

Oh yeah, they are nice people here too. But you just hit the nail on the head--"don't think there was much effort". I think most of us wish Buell could become more independent of HD, but really without HD's $$ we probably wouldn't have the current Buells. And I don't think HD will let the brand leave its stores, because they MUST find a newer generation to sell to. Unfortunately, so many of us end up turned off by the dealerships that this may backfire on them.

I find most BMW shops to be staffed by arrogant elitists. If I didn't think that BMWs suck worse than a total vacuum, the attitude of the dealerships would be enough to put me off. In spit of this, BMWs sell well. And yet one of the best motorcycle shops I know of sells BMWs and Moto Guzzis. I would go (and have gone) out of my way to give him business. There are exceptions to every rule.
More Buell dealers are waking up to the realization that they've got an exceptionally capable motorcycle for sale. We're starting to see more really good dealers start to emerge. Enthusiasts are filling in the niches in the shop staff. There's the "Buell Guy" salesman, or the Parts person who has a Lightning or the mechanic who is passionate about Buells. Little by little, we're gaining ground. With the Ulysses proving itself to be a very capable machine, "Adventure" riders are now stepping into H-D shops for a look; where before, they wouldn't be caught dead inside a Chromatorium. The smart dealers are learning who buys Buells, and how to sell to them. There are more of them all the time.
The bad shops will fall by the wayside, as the good shops multiply. I don't think that all the Buell Dealers will prove to be excellent, just as all dealers for any marque are not all good or all bad. I do think that there will be more and more good dealerships, as time goes on.

The "Don't think there was much effort" is a condition that affects every type of organization, it is not just a Buell phenomenom, it is everywhere, shown by everyone, and now I qualify that statement....except there are many outstanding organizations that we come in contact with every day, and those are the ones that I personally identify and continue to use their products and services, or spend my time at. I have a gas station that is less than three miles from the house, but I refuse to use it, not because the price is higher than the stores eight miles away, but because of the poor attitude of the owner and his family, I just have to adjust to not using that service. I have a snowmobile dealership less than 5 miles from the house and I have bought 3 sleds from other dealers because of the poor service that they provide. This is really a non-issue...

I am looking for a career by the way.....

So true. I think business has gotten so lean and mean it's engineered customer relationships and service right out of the equation. And they don't care when you complain. The only thing to do is do like you do and make it a point to choose where you spend your money based on more than just cheapest cost.

Thats a damn shame, I spoke to battlefield 2 years ago, because the local guys didn't stock belts and they mailed me one. I asked how solid the line was and they said then that they weren't going to drop Buell. I guess things change. Thankfully we have a badweb with sponsors.

I live in Hanover, just about 30 minutes down 116 from Gettysburg. I bought my M-2 brandnew from Battlefield in 2001. The day I bought it, Dave Levan, who owns the place, along with a few others went for a rip with me, he was on a X1W. Alan Cheese was the man who sold it, he was a Buell Freak! I never new what happened to him. There was slew of guys in the shop, Dave, Chuck, Harley, Jason, Tim, Chris, who rode Buells and went to training to learn how to work on them. I used to be able to walk in there, and everyone would know you, you asked for a part, they had it, there would be a few Buells parked outside, and tons of gear on the shelves.
Oh my, Deltablue you aint lying, I asked the same question this past winter, they said they were faithful to the Buell owners! I wonder how much longer till there are no more HD dealerships supporting the Buell riders...

Well I'd sure like to visit your store Ken.
Four of us tried to visit during bike week. After battling traffic all the way around Orlando, we arrived at EXACTLY closing time. Not only did we find the doors already locked, but the lights were out and not a single vehicle was in the parking lot. Do you actually stay open as long as your posted hours say?

I wonder how they will do with the new Buell dirtbikes? I don't think the HD dealers are ready to start getting dirty. It is a shame to say, but the new current designed buell stores, don't seem like they would welcome smaller, less expensive dirtbikes...will the dirtbike guys like walking thru all of the chrome and the clothing? I don't know. I hope they all welcome the bikes in and know how to market them.

When I stopped in at Battlefield to pick up my bike after they couldn't get the parts last week to work on it, they told me that all Buell inventory was gone. Sure enough, even the clothes rack was gone. Don't know if there was any in back.

I talked to my sales guy today, he said all the clothes were sold to a different dealer. I asked him to talk to the owner about whether they would still order parts, cover warranty repairs, and put tires on. I do most of my own stuff, but it would be nice to know their official stand. Told him a letter to all the previous buyers explaining what to expect would be good customer focus. I'll let you know when I get a response.

New store is nice. I spoke at length to a guy at that store about Buells. Heck of a line up of bikes too. I just wish your one guy hadn't been out the door a little early the day we all picked to ride there. Oh well, there's always next year.
