Caulk!

get 100% silicone.

Pretty much the same thing as a Bar Snake but CHEAPER!

It is lighter than lead and sand and unlike sand it won't leak out when dry and unlike lead you can't die from it ;)

One problem with caulk, it only goes in, doesn't come out ;)

www.manicsalamander.com = Proven solution.

Read the guy's explanation on how it works. The guy used to be in charge of a company that built microscopes prior to going into business for himself building various usefull motorcycle accessories.

This stuff is extreemly well made. I owned a set of the bar end weights and had them on my blast. I don't have on my s3 because I haven't felt the need.

To heck with the handlebars...How do I stop my Blast seat from vibrating!? That thing'll make you sterile.

Mine doesn't vibrate that badly.
Are you sure that your various isolators are ok?

"Are you sure that your various isolators are ok?"

That's what I'm thinking. At speed, there is no vibration in my handlebars.

Proper primary chain adjustment can also make a significant difference in the vibration.

I figured that out a long time ago.....SHUT IT OFF!!! It's the only way to make a long stroke single smooth unless you install a flywheel off a diesel truck!

All of the suggestions above are effective to a greater or lesser extent as they either add mass to lower the resonant frequency of the bars, or damping to absorb energy, or both.

In addition to these solutions, an often overlooked component of handlebar induced hand discomfort is caused by the rider holding on to the bars too tightly.

Many riders do this without thinking very much about it, but motorcycle handle bars require a rather light touch in most circumstances, even when in a corner.

Perhaps you might try to consciously loosen your grip on the bars, especially immediately after situations that caused you to increase your grip, such as hard acceleration, or entering a corner.

You may find that not only do you suffer less from handle bar vibration, but that your bike handles better as well: an overly firm a grip on the bars can cause unwanted steering inputs, reducing stability.

thx.

re: tight grip -not me. i'm loosey goosey. rarely even wrap my first two fingers around the bar, always rest on brake/clutch. (may be part of my problem?)

re: isolators, all new last year.

re: vibrates only at idle... my x1 is only "tolerable" between 3400 and 3900 rpm. contrasted to the xb9 which is smooth from 2800 - 4200 rpm. and NEVER objectionable like the x1.

re: primary chain. recently adjusted.

(I MUST JUST BE A WIMP!!!!!!! / GETTING OLD)

I will weight my bars and see.

my real question was does the "bar snake" really out perform the other methods like they claim to with their "low hysterisis" special polymer. bla bla bla.

i can make my own bar end weights, but i dont like the look.

The bar snake may be an alternative if you don't want end weights. However, adding the weights as far outboard as possible is the best way to lower the resonant frequency of the handlebars from a physics standpoint.

Rubber rope is what I use, capped off with bar ends. This is NOT bungee cord, it's solid rubber with no wrapping on it.
Any hardware store or truck stop will have it.
