Wayne's trying to sell that purty red S3 of his! i was lookin' last night at the newest pix he posted in the classifieds, and at least in the pix that bike is GORGEOUS! is it that nice in person? Say I could even ride it back to you and share a little To-kill-ya and Goldschlager! hmmmmmm, not sure what Wolf would say about someone else riding my bike to Virginia for me (i guess it'd be ok as long as you didn't trailer it???), and as far as To-kill-ya and the rotgut with all the gold flecks floating around in it, i STILL get the pee chills thinking about how many brain cells i nuked at Springfast that weekend. think i'll stick to Baileys, thank you very much. | ||

It looks damn fine to me Jerry! Ran good to, from, and on Willow that day too. Both sets of hard bags and updated front disk. It's a 98 I think, carbed Thunderstorm? Good miles. Some other extras. The only downside is that I think it could be due for the updated rocker gaskets and it does need the muffler mount update. Ping me if you can't reach Wayne. I bought my bike to park it in the garage and ride 10 miles at a time. Oh, I also like to clean it. Seriously though, a buddy of mine trailered his Dyna to Myrtle Beach... He won't live it down if I have anything to say about it. | ||

I detest what I refer to as "Garage ornaments" purchased as status symbols and "lifestyle accessories but never ridden. That said, las year I fell dangerously close to that category myself due to on-going medical problems keeping me off the bike. I seem to remember some saying involving stones and glass houses. How did that go?  | ||

Actually, Jerry, I'm on edge and impatient lately, and have little tolerance for the folks who, once a month, squirm into chaps, ride down to bike night, trash talk any bike that isn't a softtail HD, get drunk, try to pick fights, then weave their way home and park the bike until the next month. I think that is the point of this thread. | ||

Surely there's a better name than "asshats." Another way to view this thread--when it's on topic--is to imagine that a group of people belong to a picnic society. They ask one of their members to plan a picnic at the park. Then they complain about going to the park for a picnic. That would be frustrating, wouldn't it? Then, we would all post meaningless and endless internet dialogue about what makes a "real" picnicker, why you should or should not plan the picnic and be happy with the two or three people who show up after you have invested your time and energy, and whether or not all picnickers are "asshats." | ||

well then, back to the original post on this thread: yep, it's a crushing bummer when asked to plan a ride to then have someone complain about any of the parameters of the ride you've planned. Wolf, we feel your pain, bro. um, may i call you bro??? i still think it'd help purify our ranks if we knew what constituted a "real" rider, as many of the posters of the endless and meaningless internet dialogue on this thread (hey, i think that's ME!) seem to be able to tell with just a glance and a listen whether a rider is a "real" rider, or merely just a poser. you guys are truly The Genuine Article and i can only hope that me 'n my RUB'ish-looking Harley may someday be worthy of your amazing, omniscient and almighty grace. heck, y'all oughtta start a club. peace out. I thought Roadrailer had some valid points even though I believe it takes ALL of us to make motorcycling as great as it is... including the RUBs and posers. I drug your honky ass around the country for two weeks. Kept you going when you wanted to stop and take pictures because I knew we're running out of time. Does that make me a realer rider than you? After reading all this diatribe I'm starting to question my own worthiness as a real rider. You folks obviously have too much time on your hands. I worked on land speed bikes all weekend and rode a few miles when I could sneak outta the garage for a moment. Let me know when you get this all sorted out.  Maybe I should just ask Court. Wolf if I was on the other coast , I would be there. That sounds like a nice ride and plan. The basis for our weekly rides are a full tank, empty bladder and an appetite for corners. No set destination, just a compass heading and lust for the curves. Its open to all brands and we do it every damn week bar snow or ice. If only Dual Sportin bikes show up we go get MUDDY. Its a machine, its transportation, its too much fun to leave in the garage or on the trailer. just my .087 cents worth, adjusted for inflation | ||
