So I go to google and type into the search field:

how do I take the liner out of a scorpion exo 400 helment

The first link it brings up is the one I want, despite me misspelling helmet. That just blows my mind.

I was about to bid on a nice Mercedes car on ebay. cut n copy the VIN into google.. Bingo same car is for sale in Florida and the car on ebay is a scam.

Google is awesome.

Google is absolutely amazing!
And search technology will only continue to improve.
I was fortunate enough to kick-off a Project last week in which I am working directly with Google.
We are implementing some of their technology on our corporate site.
If the project is successful, we will productize the technology and start selling it to our clients.

Check out all these Google Products

Yup, google RULEZ!

I made a simple map of events for Homecoming using google maps.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0 &msid=107084945835130530980.000001127c8715086a8d6

When time gets closer, I'll be drawing up some routes in google maps. Which people with Garmin GPS can upload the routes I hear.

It's also scary.

Within seconds I can track down a person : find his name, places where he lived in the past, past and current telphone numbers, even can get an overhead photo of his house, house vaule, etc etc.

Which is why I always use different user names on chat boards and try to limit direct information.

Had one jerk from a car chat board who didn't like me and others talking bad about the cheap car parts he sold. The jerk tracked down my elderly parents and called them. Very lucky he live on the opposite coast line. So I then spent 10 minutes on google and tracked down the above listed info -- a picture of his house sure calmed him down!

As a programmer myself, I have huge respect for Google. I know exactly how difficult text indexing on that scale is, and it blows my mind that they do it so quickly.

Even more useful than Google's map program is gmap-pedometer.com

In the 3 months I've been aware of it I used it several dozen times to map out routes.
