Well, that 572 gives me a little headroom in case the Blue Oval crowd decides to bid me up...

FB, oil biz is good! Oil price is staying firm and service costs are beginning to flatten out. Why, just last week I got a turnkey bid to drill a West Texas well at $1,000 per foot. Of course, that's on a 13,500' prospect with the potential for about 250,000 barrels of oil. At $60/barrel, you do the math...

Where's all the other bidders?

I can't believe this thing is going for under $500...

FB: Cool for me?

Well, only if my well happens to be a producer. Dry holes don't make any money. Even with current technology, less than half of the exploratory wells drilled in the USA are successful.

Run those numbers again...

...to be honest, the price I quoted was for a Gulf Coast well, not a West Texas well. But the point is the same. Most wildcat wells don't pan out.

my buddy Jim needs his frame back.

he offered it up with a good heart, and for a good cause, and for that i'm grateful.

but...

...he's wanted THIS frame for a long time, and has been quietly gathering S2 parts so he could someday put the BLURR back together.

my buddy Jim needs his frame back.

Denise and i bid $455.

AUCTION CLOSED!

Jim/Pdxs3t, you've been a good friend. we hope this pays you back for a little of yours and Shel's friendship. the frame is yours, as is the Signature Series Kit, and the title will (finally) be in the mail headed your direction later today. : )

thx everyone for bidding, and to the Anon who was sniffing around this thing via e-mail yesterday, now you understand why i didn't ping you back. i'll shoot you an e-mail here in a bit, but first i have SO got to get some sleep.

Matt, hope you're enjoying the show!

FB&D & Pdxs3t - congrats and thank you all. Generosity x 3 = good friends and more money to help the Ware Family during their time of need.

FB&D - see you on Saturday.

Well, damn. I thought I had the winning bid with 9 minutes to go!

Does Jim need a motor or a set of PM wheels?

Tom, all my auctions have been set up the same, end at 10 p.m. Eastern unless there is bid activity within one hour after that time, in which case the auction continues until there is at least one hour of bid inactivity.

i bid at 10:53 p.m., within one hour after auction close (and then had to stay up another hour to make sure you or someone else didn't counter-bid).

sorry to "take" the frame away from you. i didn't plan for the auction to go down this way and we can't afford to be "casual" with our hard-earned money, but in the end we had to try to get our friend's frame back to him.

hope you understand.

Not a problem, Jerry! I'm glad it went to a good home.

But I do have an S2 motor and a set of PM wheels if they're of any use to Jim.

thx Tom, i appreciate your understanding.

FMJ ended up with the original motor from the BLURR, and i THINK i know you just bought an engine from him. any chance your engine is the original for this frame?

Could be. The motor I bought from FMJ is now in my S2. The original motor out of my S2 is now my spare.

Jerry: I'll check it tomorrow, the S2 is out at the ranchito. I'm heading out there in the morning to hop on the Road Pig and take a 5-day trip to Big Bend and the Davis Mountains with my son. No internet for a few days!

Does your cell # still end in 7883?
