I did the MSF ERC advanced rider course today. It was pretty fun. I found it to be less challenging than I had anticipated. Basically very similar to the basic rider course, except BYOB (bring your own bike). It was me on the s3t and 8 goldwings a Shadow and a 1300 Star Cruiser. I had a distinct advantage when it came to the figure 8 exercise in the 22ft box. LOL |

I feel guilty now. I used to teach the ERC on my Old Wing and on a friends FLH after I sold the Wing, but now I own a Blast....somehow I think just lost street cred. |

I found it to be less challenging than I had anticipated Me too. It was basically BRC without the pressure of needing to pass. Took mine in the rain though - did well for my dry pavement traction trust. |

The MSF is working on a stepped-series of classes that increase in intensity and skill level but as of yet no one I know of is teaching it. The ERC is pretty easy when you get going, but the key is to get folks accustomed to tight turns and street maneuvers many have never tried on Wings or Hogs or big Suzook M 109s |

I actually find the figure-8 easier to do with my K1200LT than with my Lightning Long. Has to do with the steering lock-to-lock. The LT has LOTS, the XB12Ss has very little. |
