This is the coolest of the four autographed items I have up for auction. I have but a few friends with whom I'm in an ongoing 'music trade'. Ferris Bueller is one of those friends. When I find something that's different or 'must have' I'll send him a CD. In return he does the same. Sometimes we get stuff for each other that we think each other would really like and other times we push the boundaries and send items we think the other person should be exposed to. Ferris knows two things about me... first I've never acquired a taste for Eric Clapton and second I really like roots blues artists, especially Robert Johnson and Son House. I dropped my guard and told Ferris I had read an article by Clapton in which he professed a guiding influence by Mr. Johnson. I thought I might have to reconsider the absence of Slowhand in my collection. Shortly afterwards Eric released Me and Mr. Johnson. Another friend insisted I listen. I took the CD home and played every song through once and still could not find a groove. I was waiting for that one masterfully done song with just voice and acoustic slide guitar but every song was cut with a full tilt blue/rock orchestra. My hope to find a that groove with Clapton vanished.

Another thing happened in 2004... the "Out of Words" ride. It was my first road trip since that fateful Memorial Day in 2002 when I lost my Dad. Ferris and I met in Grand Junction and he presented me with this CD beaming with glee that maybe he had found the key to unlock my hidden love of Eric Clapton. I never had the heart to tell Ferris that I had already tried it and did not like it. He had carried it from Lake Isabella to Grand Junction. I then carried it on our blast through Utah and Colorado and then onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and to Hillbilly Ed's and then to my home. The CD paper case was properly squashed after all the saddlebag time. It has set in my collection unopened since the trip. I wouldn't take a million dollars for this CD because of the sentimental value and the friendship it represents. Having said that I'd give it up in a heartbeat to raise some bucks for that Ware family. I sent this badboy off to Ferris so he could inscribe it with his signature. Of course that means to open it is to lose this most valuable signature but that's up to the discretion of the new owner.

So here's your chance to own the only official piece of memorabilia from the "Out of Words" ride. Hopefully the tie to friendships and motorcycles and the fact that these auctions also represent a friendship between Alex and Matt that is magnified here in this community will cause you to bid high and often.

Rock on!
