My son wants to start ridding with me more often now that he is getting older.(just turned 11)and loves to ride anything with a motor in it..

I want to get him some good gear for the street. He uses his dirt bike boots/helmet/gloves when he rides w/ me(very short distances) but I would feel more comfortable if he had leather jacket and pants w/ armor also.

Where have you guys gone for this type of equipment? There are a lot of choices on the net but would like some feedback on your experiences with this..where you went and what you bought.

Thanks!

My 11yo is my co-pilot and has more gear than I do.

HJC - CL-14 with smoked visor
Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 Summer Jacket
Icon Motorhead Leather jacket
Joe Rocket textile armor pants
HD Leather Gloves
Over the ankle boots

Oh, did I mention she can hold the M2 up. She is telling me in four years its hers.

Eric - We purchased most of her gear from local Honda, Suzuki and Triumph dealerships. They seem to have the most selection on gear. Our one favorite shop is Ron Ayers. They usually have a 50-75% off rack at the end of the season. Carlee's Icon leather jacket was 75% off. I got it for $94. I would also check out newenough.com.

My son is ten and he wears an XS Arai Corsair, an armoured textile 2-piece from Hein Gericke with extendible arms and legs, Wulf boots from www.babybiker.co.uk and some Dainese gloves.

He is a very happy bunny on the bike

That is so motivating Carlos. Whenever I get around to sprouting some of my own, they're definitely going to know how to ride anything with 2 wheels from the moment they can peddle a bicycle. I just need to convince the little lady of course :P
