I am very sad and just in shock. My father's brother was riding his Harley home from work and someone ran a stop sign and t-boned him. They had to do many hours of surgery last night and into the morning. They removed his one leg, and after all the work his internal injuries were just to bad. He lives in Georgia. I live in New Jersey. Three people in my Dad's family have died from motor vehicle accidents. My father's mother, my father, and now my godfather. I just can't believe it really. I posted this in ST.N. If anyone out in Conyers Georgia area knows about this accident I would appreciate any information. My Uncle is Warren McLaughlin

I'm very sorry for your loss. My condolences go out to you and your family. People here in Ga. drive like idiots. I nearly suffered the same fate a week ago when some ass clown ran a redlight at aprx 75mph in a 45 zone. I was half way through the intersection to give you and idea of how long it had been red. Do you know what they are charging the driver with?

Thank you everyone. When my mother called my aunt she was obviously blown away and told my mother that she knows that my mom went through the same situation 37 years ago. I have not heard anything about the driver. I do know that my aunt said that my uncle will be buried in New Jersey. If anyone sees anything in the newspaper please let me know. Rough night last night. The thing is my wife and I are not doing well so I just was dealing with it by myself on the basement couch while she slept in our room. Bad times indeed.

I know what it's like on both fronts over the years. Keep to your center and know that people genuinely care. We may not know what to say or do, but we do care.

Thanks to all of your responses. I found out that my uncle always drove his car to work, and on that one day he had his car in the shop and decided to ride the bike to work. I had to get on my bike today. ATGATT. I sort of deliberately overcompensated the safety factor. Looking both ways three or four times. Scanning the lane, sides of the road for deer, checking the mirrors, keeping the two to three second count away from cars. I needed to feel in control. Even though I can not control what others do I am damn sure going to be as safety conscious as I can while riding my BUELL CITY-X. The ironic part is I had planned for many months a trip in to WV this coming week. The viewing is Easter Sunday in Millville NJ and the funeral will be the next morning. I am having trouble sleeping so I thought I would post the latest and again thank everyone for your kindness.

After my bike wreck,, riding was never the same. I now view every car as the enemey.

Please be carefull with yourself. I don't know you but in general. Alchol and drugs only mask the problems. Find a good way to get some peace from this.

BTW I live down in Southern WV. If you need something during your ride in the Mountain state.

Very sorry for your loss, Chris.

If you do make it to WV, let me know, maybe I can point you to some fun roads. Check the weather, though, it is supposed to be snow-ish later this week.
