I put this in Storm Fronts, but I had to put it out here as well.

I have never experienced the kind of people that I have since I started riding a motorcycle:

When I broke down in Daytona this week, I made two calls and within an hour I had a buddy with a trailer picking me up. I also had another biker friends from work sitting with me until the trailer arrived. In that two hours, Mike at Seminole Harley was looking up parts, and Lafayette was checking in with me to make sure I was safe on the side of the road.

And now on to Saturday:

If it were not for Lafayette and Justin, I think Olddog wold be still sitting in Daytona with a flat tire! How good do you have it when you can call up someone that you know from an online group of friends and say "I have a flat" to find them on your way with a truck and tools within an hour?
I hope you all made it home ok!
Please keep in touch! The ones that we missed, I apologize! My bike week ride was broken until yesterday, when again it was fellow Buell riders to the rescue! We picked up the parts from Seminole Buell and then I got side tracked with my tax guy so Justin and Lafayette put my bike back together.

Again, I can't say enough about the people on this board.

Nick

Everything OK with Jim (OldDog)? Sounds like a PITA, hope it was an entertaining adventure...

Buell people are the best!

That's an accurate statement.
I sure wish I could have made it down this year, but it wasn't in the cards. I sat home and watched the Races on the tube and just twitched each time I saw someone in a T shirt; or when Dave Despain commented on how the weather was some of the best he'd ever seen at Daytona. I'm hoping that next year, things will be a bit better financially, and I'll be able to get away from this crappy winter weather, and I'll be hanging out with other Buell aficionados.
I hope you all had a great time.

Reep: Jim made it just fine. Just that kind of luck! Lafayette and Justin headed up there, purchased some jack stands and a few tools along the way and helped Jim get the wheel off. Luckily there is a Cycle Gear on IS blvd now so that made getting the tire and having it mounted pretty easy.
He's on the road back to NC so I would expect to hear from him tomorrow at some point.

Crusty: We missed you man! We'll be looking for you next year! I'll even lend you my hammock if that helps.

Wish Kandie and i could've been there again this year but with the new biz there was just no way for that to happen.
Hope you all had a good time in spite of the troubles.
You are 100% correct, Buell people are the best!
