Funny Movie! I felt under-dressed, seemed like everyone else was wearing leather jackets, Harley shirts, etc. The local HD shop had a new Softail in the lobby. Don't leave before the end of the movie.

I've heard that people are staying away in droves because it's being promoted so heavily AS a biker movie. Reviews aren't all that good (bad reviews won't keep ME away)

Looking at who is in the cast, it SHOULD be a hoot.

As usual, I'll probably wait til it's out on DVD

I doubt there's a HD dealer in the country who doesn't have a poster on their wall.

I rate the movie an 8. Darn hilarious. Loved the riding distractions throughout the movie.

It started out funny but about half way through my wife liked it more than I did. The ladys love to see guys like Travolta humiliated. Its part of the chick flick formula. All star cast though.

I did like the end. That strip of PCH is in my back yard. It's always cool to see the area you live in on the big screen.

I was disapointed, the popcorn sucked. On the other hand the wife and I both liked/enjoyed the movie.
They should make a movie about Buellin track dazes. Now that would make me want to ride.

The first 3 gay jokes were funny, after that, the gay humor started to seem desperate and lame.

Overall, it was fun though.

The Motor Company was all over this movie and I just thought it was interesting that there weren't any cheap shots taken at squid sport bikers. The movie denigrated (in good humor) just about everything and everybody else, but they totally steered clear of sport bikes. Not even a cameo in a movie that seemed to be about cameo appearances. Not even a squid wiping out into a cliff or something. Nada. I expected sport-bikes to at least to get made fun of. But, not so much as a Buell in the background off camera somewhere.

I just thought it was interesting.

You know HD put down big sponsorship and marketing money on this flick. And, its not like there were big plot constraints or a director insistent on artistic integrity. HD could have had one cool lookin dude ride by the opposite direction on a Buell with a hotchick on the pillion at then end during the beach scene sorta off camera or something.

Maybe a guy on a 12R pulled over for speeding by the Gay Cowboy Cop and getting cavity searched. Or a goofy looking guy on a Uly bombing across open desert with lots of Farkles to scare off the vulture, and give the guys some directions to gas. Hey, perfect chance for a Power Ranger joke. That would have been in keeping with the movie. But, no, nothing. Sportbikes don't even exist is the message here.

The movie was basically a 90min commercial for Harley Davidson. Apparently HD is ok cross-branding with Apple computers, but not with Buell.

EDIT - Of course, I guess they did put a Buell in that Flaming Devil Head movie that nobody went to. So, I guess that's something.

Hey...I resemble that remark!

Well, someone went to see it. It did $11,500,000 this past weekend and $94,757,000 cumulative to date.

Alright, so a few people went to see Ghost Rider.

I'll have to go see it so I can complain about it.

Does the word Buell actually appear anywhere, or do you have to be "in-the-know" to even know they're Buells?

A Modded X1 is more likely to be thought of as some kind of 1-off bike by the general public rather than a production model...

I've pretty much noticed that, except under unusual circumstances, they NEVER tell you what kind of bike is being used by the performers. But then, it's the same thing with cars, too.

The only time I remember a bike being specifically mentioned in a movie was in "Torque" when the character was describing the Marine Y2K turbine he was about to take for a spin. But then, almost NOBODY would know what that bike was all about without a little exposition (Jay Leno being the exception since he owns one).

Mostly why I enjoyed Lord of the Rings. Certainly wasn't for the blubbering.

True, but there was absolutely no question that the bikes in Wild Hogs were Harley's. I think I even saw the Bars and Shield somewhere a few times.

I'm just saying, there were no sport-anythings, period in Wild Hogs. And, in the flaming head movie, modded XBs would have been much more recognizable not only to "bike people" but also to "non-bike people" who could hardly mistake that huge aluminum frame for a 1 off custom. The XB's unmistakable profile, plus the flash of a buell patch on Cage's shoulder in one scene is all it takes to identify a product. Maybe they did that, I don't know. But those custom x1s only said Buell to those very few people in the world that have tubers.

Kind of a waste of good exposure, especially with the TT debuting about the same time as the movie, if you ask me. Of course, no one did, so I'll shut-up now.

I'm sorry. My definition of a "Chick Flick" involves a story about women that CRY a lot. There was NOTHING "Chick Flick" about this movie.

If Buell wanted in the movie they could pony up some dough for product placement. According to trade publications, it costs around $40,000 to prominently show your product in a flick, more than 4x that if you want a character to mention it and about 10x more if you want them to actually use the product.

Take a peek at the recent Talledega Nights and notice all of the camera facing labels and you'll know who bought some Big Screen time. The exception is Wonder Bread. The writers just thought it would make a funny sponsor, so they got a reported $400,000 worth of exposure for free.

Kinda like Babylon 5. JMS put a "ZIMA" sign in the Zoccalo as a visual gag (like ZIMA would still be sold in the 23rd century). ZIMA never paid a dime for that free publicity, either.

I'm just saying, there were no sport-anythings, period in Wild Hogs.

Why would you expect there to be? It's a movie about a bunch of guys riding cruisers. How do sport bikes fit into this?

There wasn't a single Honda menitoned in Easy Rider that I can recall.

There wasn't a single Harley-Davidson in the "bad ass" motorcycle gang in Mad Max.

That's like going to see a Harry Potter movie and being disappointed because there was no plug for the newest Star Wars or Lord of the Rings flick because they're kind of related.

BTW - I haven't seen the movie (yet), but I did visit the website. All 4 bikes are indeed Harleys, and it looks like most of the time the main characters are wearing H-D branded clothing.

Personally, as a business studnet, I don't really care. Marketing is marketing.

No, I think it'd be like going to a movie about 4 guys who love their Ford pickups and go on a road trip, and every vehicle in the entire movie is a Ford Pickup and Ford, Ford, Ford is everywhere - but the mustang doesn't even get a passing glimpse.}

They weren't ALL Harleys. Or did you miss the "OCC" logo on several of the bikes?

And just what were Sr. and Jr. doing hanging out in a biker bar in Cincinnatti, anyway?? Long way from Rock Tavern!
