Rich the host hopped on a bike to race to the end of the track. No helmet, gear or anything. He gave it too much gas and he lost it. I dont like seeing anyone get hurt but it was kind of funny! Did anyone see what type of bike it was?

I saw it. All I could think is "what an freakin idiot". He even was warned about the bike being real fast. I'd be pretty pissed if it was mine.

I wonder if the bike was the property of the show or the guys? I thought it was funny how after he crashed he talked about how long he had been riding and he just wasnt used to the power.

Before he got on he was asking "who's bike is this?" So, it probably belonged to someone in the crew.

I can't watch that program. It's just too stupid. I'd watch Jerry Springer or daytime soaps first...

But I appreciate you guys posting a highlight like that here. That was worth watching.

You know, I've gone down doing some silly things...but damn, to do in front of the viewing world, and while doing nothing but trying to spin it up a little, is just awesome.

His little speech really didn't help him at all, either.

after this thread, i had to go to my DVR and watch this because i record Pinks..all i can say is.....that is one of the most craziest pinks ive ever seen!

I dont buy his speech about riding since he was 5, after all he called the bike "a pull back bike"????? what the hell is a pull back bike????

glad he was ok, but he should have let the other guy that told him it was fast to ride it. After all that dude has a 12R!!!!!

That particular episode was filmed in Topeka, KS at Heartland Park Raceway last fall. My dad was in the crowd. It was the talk of the town for quite awhile after it happened. There were thousands of people on hand to watch the taping...and the wipe out!

Kinda seems like a double standard as they're always preaching safety on the show.

Look at it this way, that's just one more metric off the streets, even if it's just temporarily!

Yet another reason to not let anyone else ride your machine.

Seems like a nice enough guy to me. I've done stupid stuff. He aired it for all to see and learn from his stupidity. Taking the shirt off was strange. I suppose he suspected he had some rash under the shirt.

I don't know. You really think that was his decision to air that?! I would be willing to bet he had no choice.

Those guys spent time and money on there cars for that show, the car broke so it ended early, and he was all cut up at the end, so something obviously happened.

They had to air it.

After i crash, i usually try and take off my shirt/gear, because i cant see my back, and the rush can and will mask the pain

What a tool.
I don't watch TV much at all.
I've seen Pinks once before so I know the "game", but could someone tell me what lead up to his needing to get on the bike in the first place?
Cold tires.
Inexperience.
Ham fisted throttle.
"I'm a 'bad ass' attitude"
Equals what was witnessed by a million people.
What a tool.

A "tool"?
What kind of tool, a wrench, a screwdriver or perhaps a hammer?

Looked to me he bounced his mellon off the ground too, even though I didn't see any marks.

As the Honda slogan goes: "Stupid Hurts!"

Taking off the shirt is a way to tease the manly men watching manly men doing masculine manly things among manly men... not that that's a BAD thing.

It's kinda like men watching men in tights - football is VERY popular among men.

...I'm just sayin'

Jackie,

Got a point there - but I workout every other day and run the days in between NOT to change the way I look but because at age 53, I still want to keep on roadracing and scuba diving.

I just think it's a little obviously flashy on his part - and yes, he obviously works on his looks... probably does a LOT of mirror time.

And it does seem to attract the most manly of men... like football does.

(gee, I haven't stirred the pot of controversy around here recently)

Steve,
That wasn't aimed directly at you. Just saying that it is easy to sit back and rag on the dude about taking his shirt off. Not so easy to build ones self up to the point where we would be as willing to do it. I know, I have been trying for 3 years LOL!
By the way, after looking at your profile pic it looks like your hard work is certainly paying off. Now I've got something else to be jealous of

I think his shirt came off 'cause he was headed directly for the ambulance to get checked out. They would've taken it off for him, anyway. Like he said, he's certainly spilled before and will probably do it again.

It reminds me of an incident in an apartment complex I lived in years ago. There was always this patch of sand that collected in the middle of the lot with the rain. I hit it every time I came around the corner. I starting doing big powerslides over it every day. Well, the one day people were watching that patch of sand had gotten pretty small. When I was very sideways it hooked up this time, and by the time I had it under control I was pointed straight at a parked car while at a high lean angle. I hit the brakes hard and dumped it at about walking speed. To top it off I wrenched my back trying to keep the bike off the ground. The only good thing was that I missed the car by about a foot and only scratched a bar-end...all at the expense of my pride and a very sore back!

DALE - YOU BAST**D!

Now I've got that freaking theme song stuck in my brain!!!

quote:

We're men, we're men in tights.
We roam around the forest looking for fights.
We're men, we're men in tights.
We rob from the rich and give to the poor, that's right!
We may look like sissies, but watch what you say or else we'll put out your lights!
We're men, we're men in tights,
Always on guard defending the people's rights.

[Dance number, chorus line style]

We're men, MANLY men, we're men in tights. Yeah!
We roam around the forest looking for fights.
We're men, we're men in tights.
We rob from the rich and give to the poor, that's right!
We may look like pansies, but don't get us wrong or else we'll put out your lights.
We're men, we're men in tights (TIGHT tights),
Always on guard defending the people's rights.
When you're in a fix just call for the men in tights!
We're butch.

I gotta say, if you can rip off your shirt and people don't run away, then rip off your shirt. The last time I crashed and they took me to the ER they made me put my leathers back on before they'd examine me.

Last time I crashed, they cut me out of my leathers AND clothes because of the spine and broken ribs. Too bad too because that turtleneck was perfect for Winter racing!

The only people who got to see my chest were professionals ; )

(and of course, Sunny - but she can see it anytime she wants)

see steve!! That's what happened to me bro!! That song went into my head and still hasn't come out today! Then the obligatory clips of the movie that made me laugh..then the lines.."unlike some Robin Hood's..I can speak with an english accent.." and it starts all over again.."you have to be a real man to wear tights.." Then I watch the crash again..needless to say I was unproductive today.

Jackie,

Sorry if I came off as pissy!

I'm fighting to not "outgrow" my wetsuit or leathers.

There is NOTHING like a custom-fit wetsuit to remind me about getting bigger in all the WRONG places!
