I had an airbag. Divorced her, too. |

At first I thought it was a nanny state deal and soon to be mandated. After looking at the product, it seems like it could work. Question is, how effective is it compared to properly reinforced and padded riding gear. Asbjorn |

I've crashed a time or two (or three or four...). The damage has always been to the extremities and joints. The difference I suppose is if you hit something on the way down. Still, I'd consider such a product fairly useless by my experience. Wasn't that endorsed by Evil Knievel at one time? |

I had an airbag for bikes idea a few years back. Personally better than this, but I lack the engineering know how to make it real. That is usually the case with most of my ideas. |

this is the real use of said air-bad vest... Two friends roll up to a stop sign/light. Buddy one looks over to buddy two. Buddy one looks back just as buddy two pulls the lanyard to inflate buddy one's vest. Buddy two rides off laughing while buddy one sits at light/sign looking like the Michelin man's bastard son... |

Buddy two rides off laughing while buddy one sits at light/sign looking like the Michelin man's bastard son... ...and I know what would happen to me...every stop for gas I'd forget to unclip...dismount, and poof! |

I'm thinking a helmet airbag would be more useful. ~SM |

Yeah...I have a hard enough time not hitting my buddies killswitches when the light turns green, let alone setting off an inflatable vest lol. |

Dainese Is working on a similar deal.. An ABATE rep once told me blunt force trauma to chest killed more bikers than head injuries. I believe its a personal choice. The information is skewed. Only the people who die get entered.. There is no way of tracking people who didn't.. I'd wear one if there was strong conclusive testing behind it. |

A buddy back home ran into a tree doing almost 45 on a dual sport. To say he had some blunt force trauma was an understatement. He survived but not without some serious damage and huge scars. Could an air vest have saved him some pain and suffering...perhaps. If he hadn't been riding drunk he would've avoided the mess altogether. |
