I noticed that the '07 Firebolt test bike had less vibration across the rev range than my '06 Uly.

Is this due to revised cylinder heads as per the '07 Uly - or would that be a spurious claim to put in an article doyareckon?

I don't know about in comparison to a Ulysses, but my '07 firebolt has a LOT more vibration across the rev range than my '03 did.

I'm hopin that its somehow related to the break-in, cause I'm also only getting 71 miles to the tankful on my '07 whereas I think I was getting 120 miles per tankful on my '03.

I don't have a comparison back that far but doesn't sound right to me.
Not that mine's bad - New one was noticeably sweeter at 3000rpm.

And the 900 has me sporting wood at 7,000!

I just picked up my 07 Firebolt yesterday. I went into the dealership thinking I was going to buy a left over 06 Lightning Long, but test rode both back to back. I have to say that the 07 Bolt "seemed" to vibrate much less, especially at idle. Coming off of an 03 Lightning, the vibes at idles on the 06 Lightning Long seemed more than I was comfortable with. This was not the case on the 07 Firebolt. Plus the Firebolt just handles that much better....

I'm unaware of any difference in cylinder heads used on any XB bike.

I would say the difference in vibes is more related to where the bike is during it's break-in as they all do it a little different.

simple things like the condition of the front isolator will have a lot to do with how much vibration you feel.. .

Thanks for that - I checked my sources - and was barking up the wrong tree.
