Now I`m not sure if this post should be here ,or in the XB forum, cause they might be planning a bike with an XB style frame . Here goes: catagory; off road competition XB style frame Ohlins shock Kayaba air oil separated forks Nissin brakes front and rear wave rotors progrip grips tapered aluminum handle bars michelin s12 rear tire, m12 front 350 to 450 cc`s ,four stroke fuel injected no side number plates no headlite ,wiring optional upright riding position low center of gravity hydraulic clutch x ring chain keep it under 250 lbs Personally ,I would like it aimed at the KTM XC line of bikes! I ride hardcore single track and ride every weekend I can . |

I think the XB frame would be ill equipped to be a dirtbike frame. It's too wide and doesn't let you transfer your weight forward enough. |

I disagree... I think it could work. Those dirtbikes don't need to carry as much fuel, so the frame woudln't have to be quite as wide. Plus, some of these dirtbikes are getting pretty wide at the front with the readiator scoops anyways. |

Yes, but look at the shape of those tanks. They are extemely narrow under the seat and taper out. There would be little room for an aircleaner under a similarly shaped airbox cover. Regardless of the size of the radiator shrouds, I wouldn't want all that girth between my legs. I like 'em skinny in the middle. |

Get on with the bendy and the dirty! I am riding my CityX every chance I get down the dirty roads, and at high rates of speed. But the xb frame is too big for single track. By that I mean both wide and heavy. and the underslung exhaust really limits your travel. Mass centralization does nothing for stump bumping. Gotta put something the like XR750 exhaust on it. (they have told me that cant be done, just makes me want to do it more) |

How about an XB "style" frame reconfigured a bit, I guess it`s pretty similar looking to other aluminum frames out there. The exhaust would have to be typical dirtbike style ,but if Erik has any new ideas, that would be great! (Message edited by pinball on February 02, 2007) |

There was an early SuperTracker using a Buell XB chassis and 19" wheels with custom dirt-track style 2 into 2 exhaust. I can't find a picture of it on the web anymore. I have one printed at home somewhere. Almost anything can be done...you just gotta get someone willing and able to do it. |
