Not to mention that China and Japan are our two biggest creditors. Wait till they decide to pull the plug.

I went to my local HD dealer and both the parts and apparel department knew nothing about the skull cap. Not even one of the salesmen knew. They had to track down the sales manager to get the scoop. I must give them credit - they did go the extra mile and ask around till they found them.

It's a free hat, and people are complaining?
How are the teeth on that gift horse?
My wife and two daughters and I just got back from Sheldon's in Worcester where we got our hats and had a very pleasant discussion about Buells with a salesman (not Eboos).

I'm not complaining at all that the skull caps are made in China. It is what it is but the general concern over an ever expanding China and an ever contracting U.S. manufacturing base is not trivial. It's a recipe for disaster that will bare fruit at some point in the not too distant future.

If the tag said "MADE IN USA" BMC probably could not afford the free give away.

Hey, its free! Okay, it will get me into the dealership for the first time in at least 4 months so maybe the giveaway is doing something right for Buell.

Will the salesguys be able to tell me about Buell dirt bikes and hypersports?

Prof_stack,
That dealer might even show you his overflowing stock of Buells that he has ordered to make BMC's sales figures spike!

I'll bet that's why the Yahoo Buell group was disbanded! (they knew all these secrets)

Stopped by my Dealer on Friday, and they hadn't gotten their shipment in. I was also the first guy to come in looking for it, and the GM had to check since he had forgotten about them, seems they had to order them the end of August. So he is going to mail me one when they come in. This was HD/Buell of Utica. The GM there is a great guy. His bike is a Buell and we where talking about how he took his demo Uly all over the fireroads in the adirondaks.
At least the 75 mile trip wasn't a total loss, my wife and I had a great lunch (The greek restaurant near the dealer is awesome) and also poked around at the book store and got some new programming books (I know I am a geek...)

How are the teeth on that gift horse?

They are just fine, the point or stab at the store that wags the flag of "Be American, Buy American" is that it sure is hard to find something made in the good ol' U.S of A. I love my Buell for many reasons, but one is because they are up front about out sourcing parts. The Harley on the other hand.....shhhhh we be make'n money..... You will have a hard time finding something with the made in the USA label on it at any H-D dealer. I'm not mad or pissed or yelling so don't get all fired up. I just wish things could, would, should be different.

BLACK ULY RULES!!

Called yesterday and it took the dealer like 5 minutes to find the skull caps. Went in this morning and found two Buells (XB12TT and XB9SX) in a sea a chrome in the showroom. Got the cap. Nice.

Three youngin's were starting up Hogs in the showroom and riding them ten feet outside to park on display for the day. Holy CO smoke! I was glad to get out.

Parts guy at the counter said Buell is coming out with a dirt bike. Probably use the Uly motor, he said.
