I'll tell ya about helmets.

I have a HJC that is approved by the British Road Council, or somethin like that.

It cracked all the way thru and I still got a cuncussion bad enough I can't drink alcohol for 6 months!

Can't imagine what would have happened if I had a novelty or half helmet on...

Does the British Road Council have higher standards than DOT? I'm just wondering because you didn't mention DOT and I'm in the market for a new helmet this winter.

Thanks Bomne, nice t' meet ya ;)

New Dude!
There certification is a little more in depth than DOT and SNELL.

I am not sure about the impact testing BUT, I read that they are not only tested for impact.
They have EMT's (or whatever the UK equivilant is) remove the helmet from a crash test style dummy to see how easy the helmet is to remove after a accident...

NP,
You can only get them in the UK.
The only reason I have one is cause the Spider-Man Offical movie helmet was only available in the UK due to licensing reasons...

If you are looking for a helmet you need to read this. Very interesting to say the least.
