Donnie,

That looks like a king snake, you didn't hurt it did you? They make great pets, they are very tolerant of handling.

King snake or coral snake? There are two ways to tell. First you could look at the order of the colors in the bands. Second you could let it bit you and see what happens.

Coral snake striped, "red on yellow will kill a fellow". If the red and yellow are touching, keep away, deadly.

Scarlet king snake, "red on black, friend of Jack". If the red and black are touching, safe.

Amazing some of the things you remember from your childhood. : )

Would this be a cause for peeing ?

if that was on my bike when i went out in the morning I wouldn't pee...I'd simply hand him the key (carefully) and then go buy myself another bike...I'm not arguing with that guy...

It is a juvenile rat snake. We have plenty of them here.Along with cottonmouths, green snakes & garter snakes.A hog nose snake will scare you to death every now an then when they flare up like a cobra as you take a path thru the dunes.

Am I the only one NOT surprised that a thread titled "Buells attract the weirdest creatures" quickly produces the name JB2?
