Hello all:

Did anyone else watch the show "Sinking of an Aircraft Carrier" on Discovery Channel a few nights ago?

My wife and I were watching a bunch of guys scuttle an old US carrier (USS Oriskany - CVA34) to make a reef. Turns out they interview a guy by the name of Don Herring the US Navy on site rep. and guess what....he's wearing a Buell Trojan-Horse shirt! How cool is that?

Is he a Bad-Web guy? does anyone know him?

Good job Don!

I saw the shirt. I was also assigned to the security detail during the sinking. It was pretty neat.

Darnit, I missed the show. Sounds interesting too even aside from the Buell/Trojan shirt and possible BadWeB affiliation.

I rode the Oriskany one time for a few weeks on Yankee Station during the SouthEast Asian War Games. The "steam boat" carriers would pretty neat, I got to ride several of them. They produced about 150,000 Shaft Horse Power from four 1,200 PSI steam plants.

Nice monument for much loved lady:

You ever want to pass an aircraft carrier, try to get around quickly, you never know what they're going to do next (USS Nimitz seen here):

That was an awesome thing and pretty sad too in a way. That was home to a lot of men and women while they were serving on her.
