Precision HD/Buell Pawtucket RI.

I know a couple of guys here have this dealership (damnut, and firebolteric_ma to name two - see this thread http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/218550.html ) so far i'm about 50/50. this is my good/bad experience.

about 3 weeks back while out riding, i make a stop for about 10 minutes, came back out to the bike and she wouldn't start. turns out to be the fuel pump, but thats a different post (http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/228665.html?1160225863). the closest dealership to me is precision at 66 miles. so i call them up to make an appointment, nothing open for a week and a half, errrr, especially since i was off to more days that week. i take the bike in the day before my appointment, they close at 6, and i'm there at 5:30. i check in and see the owner Charlie say howdy and BS with him for a bit. then he asks what i'm doing there. i tell him and he asks me to stick around a bit to see if its a quick fix and they can get me and the bike heading home that night. i say sure and 2 techs pull it in the service bay (rich and tony) they check everything out and come to conclusion its the fuel pump.

i make mention that it sucks i had to wait a week and a half to bring it in, and am looking at even more down time now. rich asks why i waited so long to bring it in, i told him this was the earliest appointment i could make. he about loses it cussing about the kid that worked the service desk (apparently they had just moved him to the parts department). then charlie (owner) comes into the shop and rich tells him what happened, he gets all pissed off at the kid also, and tells me if theres no reason to have to wait to bring the bike in, and if i ever have a problem there again to call him directly and he would handle it personally. now its 6:30.

1 week later they call, and the bike is done, ready to be picked up.

it sucked having to wait so long to bring it in, but at least they didn't f around, once they got the bike.

like i said i'm about 50/50 on this dealership, with this experience bringing it to even. some people will say yeah but you had to talk to the owner to get this kind of service, and i say would Appleton Buell be as kick ass without daves? it only takes one person at a dealership to make or ruin your experience.

oh yeah and i do agree, joe is a douche bag. don't deal with him if you don't have to.

I bought my XB12Scg from them. I'm not sure I would consider ever bring my bike to them.

When I called to make an appointment to get the first service done, they told me the first appointment was 3 weeks out! I thought the guy was kidding, I joked with him trying to loosen him up, but he wouldn't budge. So I asked to be connected with parts department so I could buy what I needed to do the service myself. He started the whole spiel about voiding my warrant, blah, blah, blah. I let him finish and then said "It's not like it matters if I void the warranty, I wouldn't be able to get the bike in for service anyways!" And that's when he hung up on me. You don't hang up on a customer! They lost one for life as far as I am considered! I would consider buying my next one from one of our sponsors.

When my voltage regulator and battery died, I bought them from Daves even though the bike is under warranty. Just out of principal.

I went in there to buy sparkplugs and exhaust gaskets.

The sparkplugs were fine but I saw that the gaskets were warped and a little dented.

I asked for another set of exhaust gaskets and the guy said "they're all like that".

I told him "if it's out of shape, I won't be able to get it in correctly."

He then gave me some dumb attitude.
I ended up just paying for the plugs.

I only go there if I have no other alternative.

Well you all know my opinion...Glad you didn't get the run around. good on them for a change.

I would have to agree that Joe was the number one reason I hate them. Parts would be second. They are....well typical A- Holes.

If I do need to go to a dealership I will spend my money at Sheldons H/D Buell as they are the "better" of the stealerships around. I wouldn't buy a bike there for sure, but I will get parts there. that is if i can not wait for them.

I personally would recomend dealing with AL at A.S.B. or calling DaveS, They both will exceed in all aspects of service. I have delt with them both a number of times and can not say enough about them. EXCELLENCE!!!!!!!!

Wait...who's the party with the attitude,US or them? Walk in and act like a rocket scientist and you'll send them reeling.Leave them alone to do their job(if you MUST employ a mechanic).I got P/O ed with them once, and told them so.We mutually agreed and have a fine relationship now.
I can phone and drop my bike off today if need be.

Oh yeah and some facts,"Charlie" is the HELP,nothing more."Rich" is the owner and is reasonable when dealt a pissed customer.I've seen Rich rectify some of the worst.

It only takes one bad attitude to set most off when paying big money for the $shit service they provide. Even if made right the damage is done. I would "expect" that type of service once treated unfairly, anything less and I will go out of my way to go somewhere else.

For that kind of money you can get any top mechanic to work on your bike.
