Just curious where fellow Buellers 'came from'.

Sporty?, 'Crotch-Rocket'?, Big Twin?, Euro?, Etc.

Myself an Ironhead Sporty.

1987 GSXR750 was the most recent before the Buell. The most soul of any japanese bike
in my opinion, the air/oil gixxers sound agricultural and have a raw edge...sweet!
BTW Yoshimura pipe and rs36 carbs are a MUST to wake these up. Dyna 2000 doesn't hurt either.

before that an 86 gsxr750

before that was a 1985?VF1000F v4. great bike, when the carbs would stay in synch. Torque like no in-line, but HEAVY.

Before that a 93 Kawasaki zx7. great bike in it's day

before that 3 different 82-85 Honda vf700/750s Sabres. v4 shaft drive standard, soft cams torquey, low maint. standard cousin of the v45 interceptor.

Before that, a Kawasaki KZ750. Air cooled cheap commuter.

Before that a Kawasaki 90? ex500. Played around on the 1 north of Frisco while stationed there. FUN

Before that a Suzuki 1986 gsxr750. The beginning of the modern sport bike age.

Before that a Kawasaki KZ650 Good old UJM mule/commuter/all-around fun bike before the category labels

Before that I co-0wned a Kawasaki 100 trail bike as a kid. My best childhood memories were on that bike.

In order
Yamaha DT180 I think
Three Norton Commandos
Yamaha RD400 Daytona
Honda CB900F
Kawasaki KZ1000 with Airtech fairing
Moto Guzzi 850T3

9 year break
1990 Softtail
Buell X1
I like the X1 the most although the Norton is a close second for personality.

one before buell was a 79 suzuki 750, before that an 81 honda cbx 1000, before that a yamaha 650 maxim, before that a 1952 bmw, before that a 71 triumph 650. In the last three years along with my buell I've owned an 81 yamaha 550 maxim, an 81 Honda cb900f, 2 80 honda cb900 customs, a 82 yamaha 650 special and currently along with buell an 82 yamaha 400 special, 80 suzuki gs 1000 and a 79 hond cb 750. The triumph and bmw had the most personality, but the yamaha 400 since cafe styled is the funnest to ride, besides my buell.

I had a 2001 ZRX crashed it, then bought my 98 S1. Had to sell S1 because of divorce 3 years ago. Then got a real good deal on a 84' GPZ1100 loved that bike sold it to buy a house. Now own an X1. Would like to have my ZRX back.

I started on a 1976 Yamaha XT500, then moved on to a 1983 Honda CB550sc Nighthawk, which is my current ride. I have an extreme itch for an XB9R, which I have only ridden once but still think of every time I ride my Honda.

My first bike was at the age of 16 (in 1986), a 1977 Suzuki GS550.
My next bike was a brandy new 1987 GSXR750.
I rode that for a couple of years, then I got transferred to Main (Navy) and sold it.

Then 15 years later, I found myself as the proud new owner of a 2005 XB9SX!

Pre-06 Buell, but still current and ridden a lot is my '01 Road King. It rides like a luxury car, and is great for those long trips where one must bring (or is going to purchase) lots of stuff such as I am suckered into buying at events like Bike Week. Prior to that was a way cool '00 Sporty, then the list goes on and on. Most memorable was a couple of RD-350 Yamahas-- not for their handling of course, but for the sound that I thought was awesome back in those days with expansion chambers and all. First bike was an old Zundapp twin with a tank shift.

Thanks, Dfishman, for the pix of your unusual scoots!

I still ride a '92 ZX-7 Ninja to go with my XB9R.
Before that, an '02 Honda Shadow Spirit 750.
Then, from newer to older:
'94 Honda Shadow 600
'86 Suzuki Intruder 700
'85 Kawasaki Vulcan 700
'86 Suzuki GSX-R750
'82(?) Honda Nighthawk 650
'80 Yamaha Special 650
'75 Honda CB360
'76 Kawasaki 100

I'm sure I'm not finished. I plan on selling the ZX-7, since I ride the 9R so much. After that, who knows?
