got up to go riding saturday...
annoying G__d D__n drizzle.
will it rain or not?
NO it will drizzle all damn day and piss me off while doing it!!
this friggin region has no spring...
it goes from winter to RAIN to africa hot to more rain then cold.
i have had enough of this crap weather.
if i wanted to live in a fucking rain forest i would have moved to washington state!!
the people here are the absolute worst drivers in the history of the automobile. they have no clue as to how to drive on the interstate. i hate this place more every day and if it were not for my job i would pack up, piss on the state flag, defecate on the steps of the capital building and go west.
i'm not bitter... really.
oh and by the way this is the last day i will own a buell.
this bike has been nothing but a piece of orange shit that has given me nothing but grief. i really want to buy american but the grim reality is that because of unions, an american car or bike will always be second(cars) or last(HD.buells} in the race. garbage, garbage, garbage!!!
i just want to go outside of my house and torch the friggin buell right now...
this is nothing but a rant, the result of trying to go for a ride this morning, stopping to get gas and finding a broken gas cap on my bike. then have to ride in the drizzle. excuse the hell out of me for wanting a nice saturday in april. i should have known, i live in fucking GA!!!

"i'm not bitter... really"
Really?
I like Georgia. Yes Atlanta drivers are the worst, and that's why all roads go north to the mountains. Don't let a little drizzle get you down, or stop you from riding.
As far as the gas cap goes, you didn't break it in a fit of rage at the gas station when you noticed it wasn't a bright sunny day?
The weather will improve. At least you don't live in Chicago...

Spend some time in Gods waiting room over near Tampa or Walley world near Orlando to see the worst drivers. I don't know which are worse, The Q tips that can't see over their dashboards or the lost tourist driving a rented mini van with a map spread out across their steering wheel.

Gotta wonder....If the Buell is such a piece of orange shit, why did he get such a hard on about not being able to ride it on a certain saturday in April? As far as the weather goes, yeah, this spring blows so far! Hell, we had snow in April this year! As far as bad drivers go, my vote is for New Jersey. Just seems like I've never had a pleasant ride/drive in NJ.

Hey,

You want shitty riding weather come on up!!!!!

But be prepared to ride in near freezing temps till May.

Check out the pics in Cool Buell Pics to see the weather I ride in this time of the year.

Drizzle would be a blessing up here much better than snow.

Hey; some people just like to bitch. It was 60°F and sunny here today. It's supposed to be like this for the next 2 days. My blue M2 is as reliable as an anvil.

The weather bothers me a lot less than enduring a mandatory helmet law and the concept of "ad valorem" tax. Nice days will come but I will never be able to ride down my street w/o committing a crime punishable by as much as a $1000 fine and one year in jail. A bit severe wouldn't you all think?

Driving without a seatbelt is a moving violation in many regions. Does not matter if you are just driving from your driveway to the neighbor's driveway across the street. Laws, by definition as applied, don't have to make sense, common or otherwise. Life, as some say, isn't fair.

Why is it that when someone mentions a problem with there bike that folks here feel the need to tell us how stone reliable there bike is? My M2 (which I have a true love/hate relationship with) has been by and large a huge POS. Your's being "perfect" does me no good.

My favorite is when the dealer (or anyone else) tells me that the "new Buells aren't having those problems"........That's nice. I DON"T HAVE ONE OF THOSE.

Anyway, cut the guy some slack. He's just venting.

Mike:

Wearing a helmet is not an issue in your home state. BTW I'll be there mid june for my niece's wedding. Let's take ride, w/o a helmet, of course.

It also a crime in Ga not to wear a seatbelt, but is is not a moving violation. Cost for the crime is a $15 flat fee. I'm up to $150 but well worth it.

Ah, but my "home" state is either Washington or Oregon (depending on my mood), helmets required last I checked. ;) I'm just a transient here in the dairyland, and will probably remain so for several or many years to come.

If you're here earlier than mid-June there is the local dealer's event on the 6th-8th. Drop a note when you're in town, or post to the BrewCity section of the stormfront.

just in case anybody cares...
i am having a good day today!!!
the weather STILL sux and my broken gas cap is gonna cost me $40.
in my opinion my buell, compared to ALL the other bikes i have owned which includes a 1976 triumph bonneville, is unequivically a piece of crap. i love to ride it, sounds and looks great, but lets call a spade a spade. i put 40000 mikes on a 1980(!) yamaha xs850 with nothing but tires, oil, plugs and wires. my buell has 5000 miles on it and i have had oil leaks, broken speed sensors, broken body work, countless recalls and need several updates still just to prevent some catastrohic failures, ie. primary tension shoe replacement. what amazes me is that HD/buell will change a part number, call it an "update" and will not change the part on a recall. so if any of you who proclaim your bike is as reliable as an "anvil" think it is indicitive of all buells you are SADLY mistaken.
i sold the bonnie because i could only handle one POS at a time.
do not get me wrong the buell is a fun bike but do not let brand loyalty blind you to its shortcomings.

Take it from me, Georgia has not cornered the market for bad drivers. They're all over the place.

And if it makes any difference, the Buell gas cap is made in Taiwan.

OrngM2, ping me off line, I want to help you with your bike.

Mikej: We'll do. BTW being the environmental business, it is common knowledge among meteorologists that Atlanta gets more rainfall than Seattle. The difference is that we get it in chunks and the NW get is in drizzle over the whole year. Starting this past fall the rain quantities here in Ga have defied all historical records.

Well Jeez-Louise, until I started listening to you guys I thought I had just experienced the most pleasant winter of my life, having moved to Georgia last November. Last nights weather was perfect for a ride, and todays rain was perfect for polishing pipes. Saw a '79 CBX on the road, that was a treat. Stock exhaust sounded great.

I can tell you Michigan ain't no treat unless you like to snowmobile and skate, and a Kansas winter will drive ya to drink, just cold with minimal snow. What's wrong with Georgia again?
