Can I use an m2 tank on my 2000 s3.
Someone told me that the s3 has a fuel pump in the tank, is this true.
If not, will the s3 petcock (or fuel outlet ) bolt up to the m2 tank.
Thanks

That is correct. The S3 is fuel injected and the M2 is not. Yes it has a fuel pump in it and no petcock. Why do you need to change it? They won't interchange. Mounting is the same how ever.

Thanks Kebill,
The reason for the question was,
I want to put a different color tank on my s3, and I seem to be finding only m2 used tanks.

Those tanks are a real pain in the ass to sand as well. I am in the process of preparing a S1W tank for my S1 and the paint is cracked, taking forever to sand to the surface past the cracked paint. Ah what the hell I have 5 more months of winter.

Newfie...just use some 100 grit to get through the paint innitially...careful use of a scraper works as well...then use a block working with lesser grades 'till you get a nice smooth surface again.

It took me a few days to do mine...it was my first time refinishing/repainting any bodywork. I ended up with one low spot...but, ah well...ya only see it if one looks real close.
